There sounds like some late breaking news coming on KWWL TV in Waterloo, Iowa on the Jeff Gannon/Johnny Gosch story.

KWWL TV is running the story tonight on their news at 10:00 PM Central Time. Apparently they got an exclusive interview with Jeff Gannon, who's opening up on his past with photo albums, etc. Stay tuned folks... I'm sure we'll know more in a little less than three hours from now.

7. Well it looks like this story has finally reached its peak.

Nary a mention in the corporate media anywhere, about the serious investigation regarding Jeff Gannon being a lost paperboy named Johnny Gosch. If he is the same, then we won't hear about it.

8. Don't get your hopes up about this

On the Megawackometer (tm), this Gosch/Gannon thing pegs right up at the top with Bigfoot, Ancient Astronauts, and the Kid Whose Stomach Exploded From Eating Too Many Pop Rocks.

This Gosch kid would have to be at LEAST ten years younger than His Prostitutishness.

If I end up wrong, I'll apologize. But please don't believe everything you hear or read. It's like Carl Sagan said: "It's okay to be open minded, but not so much that your brains fall out."

10. I'm hoping that one way or the other...

Tonight will either:

a) verify that this story is a false red herring and let us move on to something else more constructive.

or

b) put Gannon on record with more detailed information that we can further investigate and get closer to the truth, one way or the other.

In either case, I think it helps us all. Hopefully KWWL has done a proper job of preparing for this interview and has got good stuff to give us. I applaud local stations trying to do some investigative journalism. That seems to be a lost art these days. Hope they are doing it right, for many reasons! I used to work at their competitor in that market many, many years ago. Brings back old memories of my editing stories from Waterloo office at the TV Station I was at.

11. Other questions for Gannon...

Even if Gannon proves not to be Gosh (as I'm sure he'll dispute; he is after all a Republican butt boy, so why would he admit anything that might directly or indirectly implicate Republicans through a "Johnny Gosh" confession?)

What I'd like KWWL to ask of "shill reporter" Gannon:

What credentials does Gannon hold as a "reporter" that the Secret Service/White House should grant him access to White House press meetings?

Does he still only charge $200 per hour, and who's on his list of "clients"?

12. Just saw the KWWL report...

Jeff Gannon says he is NOT Johnny Gosch. He says it is "ridiculous" and "absolutely not".

Mother wants DNA testing - feels he might possibly be her son. Gannon is asking for big bucks to do a DNA test. There appears to be no big story here folks.

I was told that he had "picture books", etc. that one would think he was going to present to "proove" that he wasn't her son. Sounds like it's kind of a no-op if he didn't do so.

Any idea on how much he's asking for doing DNA testing? Given his background, sounds like him putting himself for sale at a high price is about par for the course!

I guess the outcome here is kind of what one would expect. I wouldn't expect him to break some big secret just on KWWL. If he was going to do it, he'd want to have someone nationally do it where he could get big exposure (which could help any book sales he might have! OK, we Dems can pull that line too, right!)

The story was a big zero. It appears to be nothing more than a guy trying to get some media attention, and possibly fleece the mother. A real puke.

I have lost some respect for KWWL, although I suspected this wasn't going to be a big story when I saw Ron Steele (anchor who is well regarded here) wasn't doing it.
