Hijacked on Yahoo
I was in a very interesting discussion on Yahoo on the DSM thread.

I asked a simple question because of something in the conversation sparked a recall in my memory.

Suddenly, I'm history. None of my posts would post. I started getting a message that my "post had been posted and would show up soon"

I tried this several times and then I notice that every time I tried to post, my screenname changed to "dougx5790"

This pissed me off. I decided to register a new screen name. Okay, done deal. Tried to post again. This time it changed my screenname to "kunust"

I give up. All my other Yahoo functions are okay. What do you think happened?

This is the question I asked.

Notice the post right after.

Do you see anything in my question that could have sparked a board hijack? If so, let me know. I had a reason for my question.

1. Yahoo boards automatically lock you out
I don't know what the time span is.

But if you are posting hot and heavy, in a relatively short time, it locks you out.

Ooh, now don't I feel silly.
I'm back in.

"Paranoia strikes deep.
Into your life it will creep"

I still hope I can find an answer to the question.

2. That's happened to me also
I remember there was a lot of malfunctions with stories that told the truth about Tom DeLay a couple of months ago too.

3. Shit software, IMO.
I've had similar things happen. Never have had my username change on me, though.

4. Weird. But your question?
"How soon before the first gulf war did Poppy Bush plan to attack Iraq?"

Is a valid one. What was said in the conversation that sparked your memory?

5. There was a mention of the "minutes" and preparing for war.
I just remembered being in the National Guard and changing over to desert fatigues and some of our unit being sent for desert training.

I was wondering when the drums for war began pounding the media prior to the first Gulf War. At the same time I was trying to formulate a timeline from my own experience and see how they matched up.

7. I had something weird just happen on yahoo too...
I clicked the link on a Howard Dean thread here on DU to vote up ratings on a story. Except yahoo wouldn't let me vote! I signed in and all and yet it did not process my vote! This makes me feel paranoid too-putting on my tinfoilhat now-but I can't help but wonder if * & Co are putting the breaks on the internet information superhighway in little insidious ways to keep us from sharing info or promoting our liberal ideas and views. I also think freepers are more organized than we all think and they're part of a larger rethuglican plan to combat us with their talking points at every turn on every message board out there. That's why they never stop around here unless they are banned. They are doing this on boards that aren't even political too. I pretty much stopped posting on another board I liked because the same old Reich wing offenders over there never ever gave up. After a year or so of their crap, I quit. :tinfoilhat:
