USA Today
WalMart
The MSM
It doesn't work for me because I don't read USA Today, I've never shopped at WalMart and I stopped watching the MSM after the stolen election of '04.
How do you boycott something if you're not using it? :)

9. That's different, that coudl work |

Take a small american town with a wal-mart that destroyed it's main street. If everyone in the town just says "I'm not shopping at wal-mart' and for a month or two just drive an extra 20-30 minutes to get what they need....it'll close and they can get their town back.
So sure, driving out Wal-Mart is definately possible with a little bit of effort.

When you lack the ability to affect something there's always a t-shirt.
I'm with you though. Never consume any of that. We drive an extra 10 minutes to avoid the Wal-Mart, subscribe to the local liberal paper, and the closest we get to MSM is the Daily Show.

I consider the netowrk news, and the news channels and the mainstream papers as MSM.
Maybe they're owned by a big company, but it's funny so i watch it :)

5. Well, then you are in effect already 'in' the boycott. |
|
I do think that making conscious choices with your consumer habits and voting with your dollars is the next step. General awareness of the companies you are buying from and what they do is a good personal policy.
But I don't think that the 'internet crazes' for general boycotts that get passed around are particularly effective -- just my two cents.

They just agreed to support their pharmacists in refusing to fill rx's like birth control pills if they disagree with the concept of birth control, emergency contraception, etc.
