I know he is a republican but look what he's doing. I don't agree with everything in the article but it's nice to see something like this. I may have to check it out.

I saw you took a pretty good beating about 9/11 earlier. That's a bit of a touchy subject 'round here, so I wouldn't be shouting too loud that you believe you can debunk every theory out there (whether you can or not). It's bound to ruffle some feathers.

It's being published by Regnery Publishing.

Odds are, it's going to say that the CIA needs to be further 'reformed', hoping that we've forgotten that many of the pre-9/11 warnings did in fact get communicated to the WH by the CIA, and also that we've forgotten that a large number of CIA analysts said that Bush's case for WMD (and the Al Queda link) in Iraq were BS.

This 'reform' of the CIA, BTW, is mainly to remove potential leakers and honest analysts (ie, not 'goal-oriented' analysts who know the answer ahead of time).

Finally, the Iranian expatriate the author refers to seems to be a compatriot of Manucher Ghorbanifar -- famed liar and middleman in the Iran/Contra scandal.

I'll bet more than $5 it's not worth the paper it's printed on -- in fact, I'll bet $50 it's not worth blowing your nose with.

Weldon writes that, based on Ali's information, "the United States would be justified in launching a pre-emptive war against Iran." (This Ali apparently is trying to build a case the way Chalabi built a case for invading Iraq.) He's calling for a "mass purge of the intelligence community". He's a firm supporter of this administration, and this book is published by Regnery. I'm curious: What's to like?

But he said he did not favor military action. He said believed that the Iranian people needed to learn Ali's information about the ruling clerics. So, as the book begins appearing in American bookstores this week, a Farsi translation is being e-mailed to Iran and broadcast over shortwave radio stations run by exile groups.

I didn't know anything about the publishing company. Is it a conservative publisher?
