I posted yesterday about how my daughter's tennis coach,who is from Sweden, came back from a trip home and told us that his mother has contracted the Mad Cow disease, the human variant and is in a terminal coma.The coach told us that in Sweden,three such cases have come to light.That is the equivalent of an epidemic here.

There are two things about this disease that are frightening.There is no cure.It has a long incubation period so that you never know how long after you eat beef that you will come down with it,the equivalent of putting a gun on your head and hoping the barrel is empty.

I am afraid that in the years ahead many more cases will be discovered and if we don't stop our addiction to beef we will have many more.
