Support Our Troops Petition
What do you all think? Too evil? Or just the right amount of "put up or shut up"?

Here's what I'm thinking of posting for an online petition:

"As someone who supports George W. Bush, his administration and the war in Iraq, and being of draft age or the legal guardian of children of draft age, I pledge to enlist myself and/or my children in the armed services to fulfill the current recruiting shortfall.

I agree to allow my contact information to be given to the nearest recruiting office so I and/or my children may be contacted about enlisting."

Then I'll post a "Support Our Troops" message on every right-wing bullentin board / blog I can find.

2. I don't think you can be the "legal guardian" of "children" of draft
age unless they are incompetent. You need to change your wording to "parent."

4. Ah good point
Actually, 16 is the earliest age you can enlist, but it requires parent authorization or a child who is legally seperated from their parents and you have to turn 17 by Oct. 1 in the year you enlisted. So it is possible.

7. Right
I'll change the language to reflect enlistment age vs. draft age.

3. I would reword it to say "Support the War Petition..."
Supporting the troops can come in many forms besides enlistment - sending care packages, adopting pets of soldiers deployed, etc. However, if those who support Bush and his illegal and immoral war really want to help, they should sign up and go immediately.
