http://c-span.org/>Sorry pushed the wrong button when I stared this. However coverage of the story of the Comm Meeting yesterday left out some major content that all progressives need to tune into and I didn't see discussed. It is still very fresh news to latch onto.
1. Rep Sensenbrenner clearly demonstrated by his behavior the poor character traits of the Republican leadership. We should stop calling it hypocracy but start to call it for what it really is, poor qualities of leadership. The character and leadership of the panel participants and their Democratic questioners stood in stark contrast to the chairman and his Republican committee members.
2. The whole hearing is more than worth watching for its demonstration of progressive thought and our hopes for a peaceful world. None of this has been reported in the press, of course. However for those who have only a short time to get to the nub of it all, skip to 41:45 to 42:22 of the c-span video. Here is our soundbite credo of what we believe in contrasted to what the other side had to offer:
Their side: Preemptive, secretive, unchecked, subjective, counter to the presumption of innocence, unilateral, unreliable, and abusive.
Our side: Fair, legal, objective, fact based, tested, cooperative, and most of all effective
