THE HATE LANGUAGE OF HOWARD DEAN
Let’s see now. Democrat Party leaders are constantly harping about President Bush not uniting the nation (even though he is constantly reaching over the proverbial aisle). Simultaneously, the Democrat Party is being led by a man who frequently tenders the most divisive and hate-filled language on the political horizon.
This man is Howard Dean.
He has said he “hate(s) Republicans and everything they stand for.”
He has stated that conservatives are “evil.”
He has stated that Republicans “never made an honest living in their lives.”
And this week the former Vermont governor said that the Republican Party is monolithically comprised of “white Christians.”
You know, when presidential candidate Dean self-destructed during the Iowa caucus last year in his now infamous meltdown, his supporters declared that his astonishingly creepy behavior was a glitch in his otherwise normal manner.
But it’s obvious that this man needs to enroll in an anger management program.
Howard Dean is reflective of modern-day liberalism which feigns to be about gooey compassion. But at its core it is comprised of malevolence toward those who have alternative political and social views. It is a continuation of the scorched-earth policies of the Clinton administration that attempted to ruthlessly annihilate all of those who got in the way of their quest for ultimate power.
What is actually kind of funny is that the Democrats have, since the November elections, been, in their strange way, attempting to reach out to Christian voters. This requires what amounts to political contortionist act since most Democrats support abortion rights, special rights for homosexuals and the ongoing suffocation of religious expression in the public square.
But the smoke and mirrors and fence straddling aren’t working. And Howard Dean’s hysterical expressions reveal the true story of where this party stands on the issues and in its bearing on conservative people of faith.
I want to note that Christians in this nation are probably today the most diverse collection of people in this nation. I defy Mr. Dean to visit any number of evangelical churches in the next few weeks. He will discover white and black and brown and yellow faces worshiping together in one accord.
Mr. Dean wants to categorize Christians as a bunch of old, angry white guys in the mold of Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.V.), but he is way off beam.
Speaking as someone who’s made a faux pas or two in a public discourse or two, I know how easy it is to have a slip of the tongue while on camera. But Howard Dean is a serial offender, purposely driving a wedge between voters in this nation and attempting to besmirch the reputation of the Christian community that is sincerely working to live out their faith in a color-blind manner.
Howard Dean is an embarrassment to contemporary politics. But he is actually serving a great purpose for conservative people of faith by characterizing the left for what it truly is — a group of fuming Bush haters who are adrift in their own ritual blindness.
All the better for those of us who love the traditions of this nation and seek to keep alive an America that is open to religious expression, is protective of unborn life and is protective of the traditions of marriage and family and love of country. Mr. Dean has become the poster child for what most Americans abhor.
As goofy as Howard Dean is, I sincerely hope that he has a lengthy reign in leading his purposeless party.
