Does your state have a democratic attorney general?
I want to make sure that you know that the republican party is specifically targeting your attorney general. This was stated at the DNC meeting this morning. You really need to think about this. Its getting pretty clear they aren't going to be satisfied until they can make this nation 100% republican.

1. Minnesota - AG Mike Hatch (Dem), will probably run against our
republican governor in the '06 race. We'll need a strong Democrat to fill Mike's shoes once he beats Pawlenty.

3. MA Atty General is Dem and will probably run for Gov
Too bad.

But you're right they are targeting the top state offices for various and painfully obvious reasons.

7. Ks and nope. We have one of the worst, most unqualified AGs in the
nation. He let his law license lapse 3 times since getting it. He has never tried a case in court. He basically went to law school to become a politician. Now, he is using the AG's affice to obtain private medical records of women who have gone to abortion clinics. He says he wants to know if any under age girls have been raped under KS law. (The age of consent is 16.) Of course, he hasn't asked for records of girls age 16 or under who gave birth, who also would have been raped under KS law....

9. Not just "no"...
...but "hell no." Our last AG was Bill Pryor and now it's a fellow (Troy King) even more closely tied to the religious right.

10. Yes and he's going to be our next governor!
I wish those bastards would try to pick a fight with my hero Eliot Spitzer. He'd chew them up and spit them out before they could blink.

13. In Texas we don't have a Democratic nothing
All 29 (?) statewide elected officers are Repubicans, even every state Supreme Court justice.

Who will be the first Democratic candidate to break back into power around here? We could use a celebrity to run for Agricultural Commissioner or some other lesser office. Nolan Ryan is reportedly interested, but alas, he's a Republican too.

Tom Landry? Roger Staubach? Don't know their party afiliations.

14. They have already targeted our governor and our
secretary of state successfully. What's an attorney general or two?

They are also trying to get the Secretary of Treasury seats as well. My Repuke Assemblyman, who has his head so far up Arnold's ass, he is starting to talk with an Austrian accent, wants to run for that seat. I get the feeling it has been promised to him.

Controlling the laws and the money makes them in the catbird seat doesn't it?

We really have to get our election reforms in place before 2006.
