If you knew you only had 1 month left
What would you do? What books would you read? What movies would you try and get in? Where would you donate? What petitions would you sign?

What would you do each day with your spouse? What would you tell your children? What family and friends would you reach out and touch?

Remember that this moment IS your life. Treat it like it was the last, and respect it like it might be your last. Because one day, it will be.

Don't let your epitaph be a list of all the opportunities you wish you had taken. Make it a list of the things you are glad you have/had done.

I hope this is a hope filled thought for you on an otherwise rainy day (at least here where I live).

Peace,

Prot.

(And no...this isn't in response to anything specific. it's just something I think is a good idea.)

1. Good advice
and some I try to practice each day.

But, seriously, if I knew I only had a month left, I'd ask everyone I knew to donate to Refugees International in my memory, as I feel that organization does vital and lifesaving work.....check it out for yourself and you'll see why I feel this way.

2. If I only had one month
I would commit unspeakable acts that would get this post removed.

6. ROFL
My thoughts exactly. As an addendum, I'd have to say I'd cap that month with an event, only 3 words can describe it: Blaze Of Glory.

4.  politics would not be on my agenda as important as it is to me. My family
comes first always and I would spend as much time as possible with my kids, my parents and my spouse and everything else would fall by the wayside. Relationships are what life is about. What we do here and in the government hopefully makes our relationships better, in that we have better opportunities and a more equal society, but on a personal level I'm afraid this would be my last post

5. I think I'd DO some things
that I spend way too much time just talking about, and not nearly enough time acting on. Suprising my wife with flowers, feeding people at the local food kitchen, smiling at strangers, gardening. Talking to family rather than thinking about talking to them. Playing with my dog.

I'd read more philosophy and less politics...and I'd probably give out those apologies that have been due for far too long already.

And I'd spend a day sitting on a mountainside actually looking at the world again...rather than spending that day in the office or in front of the computer or TV.

Now my challenge is to actually kick my own ass into following my own advice a bit more consistently.

Prot.

8. Tough question
I've spent most of my life doing things for other people. I think if I had only a month left, I'd spend three weeks eating all the things that are bad for me, smoking, drinking, doing drugs, watching porn, and the last week having as much sex as possible.

9. i would see to it that my kids are taken care of.
period. nothing else matters. who gives a shit?

one of my best friends died last year. after she was gone, i thought, what mattered in her life? i don't think any of it matters once we are gone. we did our thing then left.

11. i would be filled with so much anxiety that i don't know if i could focus
on reading anything, etc. etc. etc.--i mean, if it had been a long time illness and that was the only time left, and through the course of the illness i had advanced to an acceptance of the fact that i was dying and had only one month left to live ... perhaps i could be calm enough to plan what i would like to read, etc. --but seriously, i don't know that i would like to read anything. i might want to spend the time close to the people i know and love... a hard question... and one that i don't have my own answer to it.

( i know that we are going to have to put down our little savannitah, one of our beautiful mini pins on Monday if by then she is not much improved, as per the vet... and i know that we are catering to her and that if we leave her alone for one second she starts to cry calling at least one of us back to where she is--pretty nifty on her part, i think!)
