Poll shows We ARE the Values Party!
Take that, GOP! A newly released poll "Moral Dilemma: Which Morals?" conducted June 2-5 by Westhill Partners/The Hotline should give pause to those who fear having the Democratic Party push a "values-oriented platform" in upcoming election cycles.

"Which political party - (ROTATE) the Democratic Party, or the Republican Party - do you think better shares your values?"

Democratic: 44%
Republican: 40%

And there's plenty more to be pleased about in the results, some surprising, others less so. There's definitely stuff here that can be gainfully exploited to prevent the GOP from trying to ram through a social agenda which the American people do not support.

6. A Value Shared by true CHRISTians
True Christian values are the same as liberal Values
At least according to Jesus Christ (too bad so many xtians follow Paul or Calvin instead).
A great site that explains Christ's take on values is:
http://liberalslikechrist.org
I highly recommend this site for Christians, atheists, and even my fellow Pagans.

3. Cutting taxes to the rich at the cost to the poor is not moral
Nor is Bush's pre-emptive strike policy. It voids Christ's Golden Rule completely.

7. why are you surprised.. we are the majority, we won the election..
Edited on Sun Jun-12-05 11:23 AM by Griffy
The majority of Americans are against what bush is doing and represents. If not for Diebold and friends we would be having a totally different conversation! However, just think about the healing power of impeaching bush.. what that would say to the world, including Iraq! Try not to fall into the mindset of the propagandists!

8. Huh
People who said that the GOP shared their values claimed that their values were "dedication to family/traditional values".

Doesn't "dedication to family" include making sure that families have health care, children have proper nutrition and education, seniors can retire and have something to live on, and women can choose if and when they will have a family?

It does in my world.
