Latest Pro-bush AstroTurf letters
Our local just printed one that obviously originated here:

http://www.georgewbush.com/GetActive/WriteNewspapers.aspx?aid=92

I emailed the paper to let them know.

Considering the writers are either too lazy or lack the necessary skills to compose thier own opinions, I doubt many of them carefully read the propaganda letters they click and send.

How's this idea: set up a fake pro-Bush site with a form letter generator. But between all the usual GOP talking points, slip in a few zingers. Think these GOP-bots would notice?

1. Anyone know how to do that?
That would probably send the Freepers for a spin.

4. Muahaha!
1. Register a likely domain name, like "gopsupporters.com" (which is in fact available). A good number of registrars are available. Avoid NSI.

2. Find someone to host your Web site. Lots of Web hosting companies out there.

3. Draft some web pages, using Frontpage or some other editor. Be sure to put in lots of red-white-and-blue elephants, and pictures of George Bush. Include a link for suggested Letters to the Editor.

4. Upload your Web pages

5. Have fun

2. I emailed my paper the links to those form letters
The editor wrote me back and said they were getting five identical letters almost every day.

8. Our paper SUBSCRIBES to the links, to pre-empt astro-turf!
Rather cool of them, for a middle-right paper.

5. Didn't the NRA get caught doing this years ago?
The same "person" wrote dozens of identical letters to 100's of papers until someone caught how identical they are. Catching this should be a whole lot easier with the internet. This forced lots of papers to verify the author prior to sending.

6. Where's the fun in being a ditto head if you can't
...go around robotically repeating what your GOP Overlords say? Better yet, use electronic media to replicate it infinitely! Replication, that's what we want! hence my favorite, self-coined term for them: the Replicant Party.

Hasn't caught on yet....

10. Here's What I Wrote -
Look how easy georgewbush.com makes it for rightwingers to send letters to all of the Denver/Boulder papers at once? Those clever right-wingers.

You can't see the right column of this page, but right next to this easy does it form, are all the talking points the letter writer is to use when sending out these mass mailers.

Those clever right-wingers, they know that no one really knows what Bush is up to, so they giveout propaganda talking points. Here's a few:

President Bush should be commended for his strong leadership on the economy (stop laughing now), He has taken bold action to creat lasting economic growth. (Bold tax cuts & pay backs for donors and the rich) The President's economic growth agenda creates jobs (outright LIE)

I can't go on typing the outright lies and propaganda. If you are interested in reading the rest of this pathetic attempt to rally GOP'ers to lie for Bush's failed economic policies, I invite you to visit.

11. Here's one from Sunday's Oregonian:
It's titled "Bush is a true leader".

<snip>
On Sept. 16, I looked at the letters to the editor and found that six of nine letters were nothing
more than attacks on President Bush. Here for the record is the real story.

1. His economic plan is focused on job creation and helps working families with immediate tax
relief.

2. President Bush's leadership in winning the war on terrorism has been remarkable. After Sept.
11, President Bush acted decisively to rout al-Qaida, and America is safer as a result.

3. President Bush's leadership has improved education in America. His No Child Left Behind Act
helps kids learn and puts parents back in the driver's seat when it comes to their children's
education.

4. President Bush is building protections against bioterrorism. The president's Project Bioshield
will help develop new vaccines and protections to guard against chemical and biological attacks.

What is hilarious yet maddening is that the four points this "writer" lists are * cribbed directly word-for-word from this Bush 2004 campaign website.*

I saw this yesterday but forgot to confirm my suspicion that this was so, so thanks, ThoughtCriminal, for reminding me with your post.

So, are Bush supporters *too stupid to write their own letters?*

Just wondering....

15. make the letters looney
make them loony enough that freepers and other idiots think they make sense. Then when they appear in the paper real people/ normal republicans who have not been paying attention, will wonder what kind of morans took over their party.
