Rice In Concert
Edited on Sun Jun-12-05 01:16 AM by ls317
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A musician long before she became an academic and then a world-famous diplomat, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice took to the Kennedy Center concert stage Saturday to accompany a young soprano battling an often-fatal disease.

9. reedeming quality?????--that woman has no reedeming quality!
She may have a trained voice and she may play classical music, and you would think that having been given those gifts, she would want to be a little closer to TRUTH ... she has evidently flushed them down the toilet along with truth and adopted POWER.

(I used to say about OJ SIMPSON, after he killed his wife, that if ever I were in a restaurant and he were to walk in, i would get up and leave the restaurant). I have to say the same thing about condoleeza rice, that if, although, not likely, i know, i were anywhere, where she were to get up and sing, i would get up and walk away! i cannot stand the woman! and in fact, in my mind, she has prostituted herself much, much worse, than monica lewinsky, a young intern who had fallen in love, ever did.

actually, i know i would never be in the same place where condoleeza rice might be...unless it were with me outside in a protest line!

6. This part is interesting....
"Largely unknown in the United States until about 10 years ago, it has no known cause or cure, but genetic studies and a search for treatment are under way."

Sounds toxin-related to me.

7. Actually, I don't believe she sang, but instead played the piano.
And, agree with me or not, this was a BRILLIANT PR stroke by Schimpanski and the Gang of Toads.

By highlighting Condie's artistic skills (on stage with a beautiful blonde with a fatal disease, no less), they've humanized her, broadened people's perspective of her as a near-genius, and deflected a lot of the "she's an incompetent ideologue" talk that generally surrounds her.

I hate it when the Bushistas get something right, and this they got right.

10. Yep
It's all a PR stunt because of everything else going on. Low numbers for example. They think if they see Condi being human it will make their poll numbers go up. Heh. Of course if this was a democrat doing this they'd be screaming and crying "faker!" :eyes:

15. i need my eyesight adjustted. i don't SEE how this can be thought of as,
"getting it right", or as a 'BRILLIANT PR stroke'...instead of being seen as a blatant, impudent ACT, on the part of the ignorant, COWBOY, BOOT TOTING bushistas who are running the white house...

Condoleeza Rice has prostituted herself one more time, allowing music and the illness of another woman to be EXPLOITED for the BENEFIT OF THE
BUSH FASCIST REGIME.

22. Yeah, like I said . . .
Getting it right.

In PR, it doesn't matter whether it meets your personal sense of propriety if the target audience sees it differently.

And that audience doesn't see it as an impudent act by a fascist prostitute, but as a demonstration of Condie's impressive skill, nerve, and breadth of mind.

Sure, we believe she'd lick Georgie's butthole for a nickel, but this stunt argues -- compellingly -- for a different interpretation.

And let's not forget: Condie is intellectually brilliant. Pretending otherwise does us no good. The fact that she's wrong, morally bankrupt, a tool, etc., etc., doesn't change the fact that she's a very smart person. And hence more dangerous. Let's not underrate the opposition here, or we'll continue to get our clocks cleaned.

25. the target audience already thinks she is the next thing to the VirginMary
so ... she doesn't have to do anything to be idealized...

i stilldon't see the stunt arguing compellingly for anything--if you, and i, and others can see through her impudent fascist prostitute act!

(and i thank you for recognizing that).

as for condoleeza rice being brilliant!!!!!!! in my perception her brilliance is nothing more than a tarnished tin can.

The woman gets it

wrong

all the time!

I don't see her as any kind of a genius.

I see her as a greedy cunning war monger.

Going around the world saying "If I had a dick, I'd be shaking it at you, so you'd better give my boss and Mr. Bush what they want!" is NOT diplomacy...

13. I heard she sang a medley...
Edited on Sun Jun-12-05 01:22 AM by TwoSparkles
of songs.

She began with, "Would I Lie to You" by the Eurythmics.

Would I lie to you?
Would I lie to you, honey?
Would I say something that wasn't true?
I'm asking you sugar,
would I li-i-ie to you?

Then she belted out, "Liar" by the Cranberries.

The surprise of the evening began with Condi mounting the piano and slithering in Michelle Pfeifferesque fashion--as she belted out, AC/DC's "Hell's Bells".

I’m a rolling thundaaa! A pouring rain!
I’m comin’ on like a hurricane!
My lightning’s flashing across the sky!
You’re only young but you’re gonna die!

I won’t take no prisoners, won’t spare no liiiives!
Nobody’s putting up a fight!
I got my bell, I’m gonna take you to hell!
I’m gonna get you, satan get you!

And lastly, Condi dedicated George Michael's "Monkey" to..."my secret Camp David cabana monkey boy"...

Why can't I do it?
Why can't I set this monkey free?
Always giving in to it -
Do I love the monkey or does he love me?
Why can't you do it
Why do i have to share my little monkey?

Don't look now
There's a monkey on my back
Don't look now
There's a monkey on me...

Condi's playing the pieanno and Bush is doing interviews with Barney. I think their image consultants have helped them to turn the corner.

BushCo is no longer EEVILLL.
