remember the GOP Convention? All Black Stars, All White Audience
it PROVES howard dean's point, they all look alike and they all act alike. there they were with chaka khan and every other non white performer they could pay off to show that the republicans were 'reaching out' to minorities.

and then the camera would pan over the LILY WHITE, FAT, REPUBLICAN AUDIENCE.

it was surreal, but it proves dean's point.

1. I remember it looking like a Nuremburg rally as Zell Miller
foamed at the mouth. Scared the shit out of me.

3. Want MORE proof? go to the RNC website
Edited on Sun Jun-12-05 07:38 AM by GloriaSmith
I laughed my ass off when I went there. The site has a photo album and one of the categories is "GOP Outreach Photos". Basically they've saved any photo that has Bush or his wife sitting or standing next to a minority.
Example:
GOP Outreach album:

But at the end of the day, this is what the GOP looks like:
Economy photo album:

Need more proof? Look at the RNC agenda and compare it to the DNC agenda. Feel free to waste your time looking for civil rights issues on the RNC agenda...it's as fun as beating your head against a brick wall. When you need a break, you can read this from the DNC agenda:

"Our commitment to civil rights is ironclad. We will restore vigorous federal enforcement of our civil rights laws for all our people, from fair housing to equal employment opportunity, from Title IX to the Americans with Disabilities Act. We support affirmative action to redress discrimination and to achieve the diversity from which all Americans benefit. We believe a day's work is worth a day's pay, and at a time when women still earn 77 cents for every dollar earned by men, we need stronger equal pay laws and stronger enforcement of them. We will enact the bipartisan legislation barring workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation. We are committed to equal treatment of all service members and believe all patriotic Americans should be allowed to serve our country without discrimination, persecution, or violence. We support the appointment of judges who will uphold our laws and constitutional rights, not their own narrow agendas."

Until the RNC starts including civil rights and diversity issues in their Party agenda, I really don't see any place for them to bitch about Dean's observations.

5. The audience in the first picture
doesn't look too happy to be "reaching out". They look rather angry.

6. Yeah, cause they don't believe it either.
They're waiting for the photo-op to end so they can go back to their lily-white world.
