If you ask me, our country's society is a mess:
Our society is so discompassionate it has nary a care if you're jobless and left to rot, and finds new ways and means and laws to get you jobless so the government won't have to pay unemployment.

Yet we give 3 solid meals per day to not only jackals and animals we imprison in the society we are ALSO prisoners of (think about it), but we are just as kind to the murderous vermin who get locked up for life. And government gives subsidies to those organizations.

Meanwhile, the state runs a lottery. Fools pay $1 just so they won't win a prize they think they're going to win. They all basically pay so one person can live in luxury. Why not pay into a system that EVERYBODY can get at least the basics from? I refuse to play the lottery for that alone. This isn't socialism, this is basic humane decency, especially when those who make us squabble and scratch for jobs are less than human themselves?

If gambling is a sin, why doesn't our theocratic government shut down Las Vegas?

Television IS free because advertisers pay for the programming and its costs. Every time I buy a container of Kraft Parmasean Cheese, I've paid into a bunch of TV shows - 99.99% I NEVER EVER watch. So how come the MPAA and Homeland security decided to summary shut down web sites that traded in free TV programs? Not pay-for movies but free TV?

And I've only just begun...

(this was too serious for the lounge)
