But Weiss and other experts on the region say the FBI may have
confused a militant Muslim and accused terrorist, Fazlur Rehman Khalil, with the similarly named Maulana Fazlur Rehman, a Pakistani opposition leader affiliated with a religious school that Hayat attended in Pakistan.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman was mentioned in an early version of the FBI affidavit, but
his name and other key details were later deleted."We're standing by the affidavit filed in court," said Sacramento FBI spokesman John Cauthen.
