Listen up Bozos! The world is better off without Saddam Hussein !
Forget about the WMDs, nuclear materials, imminent threats, etc. Now repeat after me: "The world is better off without Saddam Hussein".
Now we know a lot of you people here at the UN got a wild hair up your butts but it's time to move on. Saddam was a tyrant and now he is gone. The world is a better place. Does anyone doubt that?

1. I doubt it.
Iraq is now unstable, unpoliced, and is a magnet for terrorists who want to take advantage of the chaos.

The weapons, if they really did exist, are now missing, and could be in anybody's hands.

The chaos, crime and violence there are worse than before the invasion.

Saddam is still missing. Osama is still missing. We've infuriated yet another part of the world with our arrogance.

No, the world is not better, and it's not safer.

2. Hmmm, before the war, US preemptive unilateralism was just theory...
...now it's reality. I think I like the way things were before...

oh I remember, G. Dubya, Uncle Dick, Wolfie, Condi, Colin, and the majority GOP leaders in the house and senate. Which tyrant do you suggest we go after next?

4. It would be better without a lot of tyrants.
How would you like it though if some other country's leader decided to "liberate" us from the tyranny of Bush? Its a perfectly legitimate argument you know.

5. very subtle satire
At first, I thought freeper, then I got it.

Yeah, this is going to be a funny speech.
"I was right. Things show otherwise. But I was right.
Things suck: they are going to get better. But I need money and men.
I need money and men. But I'm not giving up anything."

8. Yeah! Dead or alive! Who's next?
Let's get with it. There's an endless supply of tyrants and others the world would be better off without. I think we should use my list though, because your list might include some names I disagree with.

14. Lets start killing more people then
the more we kill the better off the world is, right?

Once you set a bad precedent, do you follow it over the cliff, just to save face?

9. amusing
Of course it proceeds from the false assumption that the world is without Saddam Hussein.

Wow, that's some feat we've managed...taking over a country from a despised dictator and actually making his people long for the good 'ol days when he was in power.

We still don't know how Iraq is going to turn out. You're assuming it's going to be better than under Hussein, but that remains to be seen.

but the US put him in power. Should we go down the long list of despots and tyrants the US has installed in power, beginning with Paul Bremer, our colonial administrator in Iraq?

"Listen up Bozos! The world is better off without Saddam Hussein !"

The issue is the rule of law! We cannot have countries attacking other countries in total disregard of international law and the UN Charter. However, if you want America to be on the same moral plane as Hitler's Germany and Imperial Japan, you better get yourself fitted for jackboots.

23. How do you know what will prevail in Iraq?
At the moment, it's not nicer in Iraq for most people. For some, it's markedly better, to be sure, but overall? Nope.

Hussein was a Tito-like influence in a similarly falsely-created hodgepodge of a country. Things are dicey now, but when it cools down a tad, it may very well erupt into something truly ugly.

You just don't know. You don't. I don't either.

25. tell that to the 300+ dead US soldiers
yes saddam is an evil SOB that the world is better off
without, BUT NOT when Bush lied to start an un-provoked
war of AGRESSION.

OVER 300 US soldiers ARE DEAD !!

OVER 1600 US soldiers are wounded !!!

OVER 15,000 Iraq civilians ARE DEAD !!!
Women children whole Iraqi families ARE DEAD !!!!

The end does not justify an illegal immoral war of agression.

28. I know this is a joke, Kentuck, but
in all seriousness, considering the fact that all we know of Saddam is what our propaganda has told us, and considering the fact that we know he was absolutely demonized, then I must admit to a considerable amout of doubt. First of all, I agree with the poster who said the world is not free of Saddam. Secondly, I don't think Saddam was killing as many Iraqis as we are...

On second thought, the world is much better if you consider that by illegally invading Iraq and attempting to assassinate it's head of state, we have finally given the world a reason to unite, so that human progress in the world can continue.
