1. Thank you, once again, for all your efforts to capture and distribute ...
.... important news segments like this one.

Peace.

www.missionnotaccomplished.us - Please, everyone, don't stop at 500,000 signatures; don't stop at 10,000,000 signatures; don't stop until Bush and the neoconsters are indicted and prosecuted for their heinous crimes against humanity and our Constitution.

6. Yeah, the lady from The Nation!!!
She is quite bright,...and spunky, too!!! *LOL* She really gives the knuckleheaded, white, male talking-heads (no offense guys, ok) a run for their money.

The fact that their fall-back response to her well-articulated positions is "laughing" or "grinning" just makes them all look like the schmucks that they really are!

14. In mid-May CNN's Begala expressed his outrage over the DSM (VIDEO):
In yet another valuable dzika clip, watch Begala. His outrage is clearly heartfelt. This was posted at DU back on May 13, apparently BEFORE the order to suppress came down from the White House. (And we all know there must have been such an order.) This gives some insight into the timeline and dynamics of the suppression.

Here's the link to the 2 min video (Real Media format):

And here's the May 13 DU thread where dzika posted it:

34. The spin is obvious here - The London Times is called "a tabloid"
Of course, they don't reveal that the documents referred are authentic or that a top British media venue, not a "tabloid" revealed it.

Shameless, but what else is new? Interesting that at this point in the evolution of the CNN coverage of the DSM, the spin was apparently to disparage the source of the documents as an unnamed "tabloid," and thus ignorable. Why believe a "tabloid" when CNN is obviously whom you should trust?

47. The Times is anything but a tabloid...
..it is and always has been a conservative stalwart, and one of the most respected newspapers in the country, if not the world. I prefer the Independent and the Guardian, but it is absolutely NOTHING like a tabloid...

CNN of course wouldn't recognize what real journalism looks like having swallowed the * administration's loyalty path hook, line and sinker...

55. Yes, even on THIS side of the Atlantic we know about the Times.
Note that on the May 7 show they didn't dare name the venue, they just called it a tabloid. If they had said "that notorious tabloid, the London Times," even the propaganda-dazed TV addicts would have wondered what was going on. No - they lied about the venue when they still thought they could get away with it. Another example of corporate media complicity.

Not for nothing are two of the top papers in this country named The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times.

35. Another MID-MAY CNN VIDEO - Blitzer on the DSM (posted May 16)
Conyers is given a brief appearance, but after him, more time is lavished on John McCain's denial that the DSM has any validity. He declares that there's no reason to think that intelligence was manipulated. (Anybody here still trust McCain? This is only one of SO MANY slimy things he has done for the neocon cause.) So here's another form of spin - a "TRUSTWORTHY" GOP spokesman says it just ain't so. And there are other disclaimers as well. Scott McClellan is given air time to deny it all. (Roll Over, Scott, Fetch, Scott. Lie, Scott.)

In this video, CNN talking heads and their chosen "reliable" spokespeople were talking about the DSM but spinning it as untrustworthy. They no longer were lying about its being merely a report by a "tabloid" as they did in the May 7 video, now they were importing spokespeople to try to shoot it down. (If it was really just an unreliable report from a "tabloid," why report it? After all, they don't report on starlets giving birth to aliens or Elvis sightings.)

Here's the link to the video, which is about 2 minutes in Windows Media format:

44. Oh, I trust McCain, b/c the New Yorker told me it was OK
Lovely, laudatory article in the New Yorker a few weeks ago (no link).

Described how the McCains were so uncomfortable around the Bushes that when Chimpy & Pickes were coming to visit, the McCains called friends to come stay with them so they wouldn't have to stay alone with the Bushes. And yet he kisses and hugs Bush at every possible opportunity. But here's the thing: he's a STRAIGHT TALKER and once in a blue moon, he differs a tiny bit with the neo-con agenda (election funding). So he's basically a GOOD GUY. Or that's what the New Yorker says.

(Oh, and Clark? He's a BAD GUY according to the New Yorker)

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x1818584
Thread title: "Framing for the presidency: TV Movie is pure pro-McCain propaganda

Gee, guess who the corporate media are grooming for the 2008 presidential campaign? Read this thread if you have a strong stomach. The propaganda frenzy will gag you - BUT WE MUST PAY ATTENTION. McCain is being framed as "honest, brave, trustworthy, smart, statesmanlike, experienced." All things that the Bushies are not. He will be very hard to defeat, I'd say nearly impossible if all the puffery about this ambitious enabler of criminals isn't deflated.

Stop the presses...Hillary charges Repugnicans are bad and mean at a Democratic party fund raiser! What shame! Hillary claims the media is biased...like that VRWC that we know exists and they hate when she brings it up.

Where's the outrage, I tell ya! You'd think someone like a Tom DeLay would never think of using a political fundraiser to say bad things about Democrats.

I'm far from a big Hillary supporter, but their attacks on this lady are so over-the-top when compared to finding a Repugnican who does the same thing...and there are plenty.

28. Thanks, nice to be here, I should clarify I don't "hate" Hillary...
I love everyone, even Bush, I like the quote "Don't hate the sinner, hate the sin". I know they are filled with self-hatred and I empathize with them for that because im sure their lives are miserable... But at the same time I cannot excuse their evil actions when people are suffering and dying because of it.

33. Misery Loves Company
So many, including here, are filled with a hatred that is fed and feeds its own little worlds...and used by both parties and their special interests to "energize the base". For the right wing, Howard Dean is the latest target, but nothing beats a good case of Hillary hate. It attracts the old Clinton haters club...and I'll be one to say, both Hillary and Bill thrive off of it as it's filled their campaign coffers to overflowing over the years.

I don't hate...I prefer apathy, as one who doesn't care about someone or something rather than to get so emotionally wrapped up I lose focus of perspective and reality. While there's lots of frustration and contempt for what I see going on, "going postal" doesn't solve problems, it just creates more. And I'm not gonna play into that game anyway.

But I will not sit back while lies and deceptions are being used that are resulting in the deaths and suffering of Americans and others...all for the greed and profit.

Cheers!

36. Welcome, theearthisround. After we save democracy, we can get back to
arguing as is the tradition for progressives and conservatives. Often the best plans are hammered out of such dialogues.

But for now, much larger things are at stake and we have to stand together. The people who have grabbed power in our country are NOT conservative, nor are they true to the traditional priorities of the GOP. They are radicals and greedy criminals and they are ruining our country in every way.

Again I say WELCOME. All people of good heart must come together to save our country.

Here is the contact link for CNN reliable sources:

Here is my own letter:

I would like to give my support to the words of Sen. Hillary Clinton regarding media bias.
Any rational person can remember the relentless critique of every aspect of the Clinton Administration--no matter how insignificant the charge.
When will CNN give half as much attention to the questions of whether or not the Bush Administration mislead the nation and fixed intelligence on matters of war?
As Sen. Clinton said, “come on guys-let's get some spine here".

Sincerely,

37. Interesting to watch the evolution of the CNN spin in the different
video clips presented in this thread. Begala's outburst was an exception - I can imagine they were not pleased with his honesty. Here's the sequence, with links to the posts in this thread with the video clip links:

May 7: spin - "information came from a tabloid" Therefore, it's not reliable so we can ignore it. "Nothing here, move along, move along."
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=3842353&mesg_id=3842763

May 13 (posted) - Begala shows honest outrage about the implications of the DSM, though there isn't much time given to it.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=3842353&mesg_id=3842639&page=

May 16 (posted) - Blitzer show. Conyers is allowed to speak briefly, but afterwards much more time given to GOP spokespeople McCain and McClellan - both of whom flatly deny that intelligence was manipulated or that there was an early plan to go to war with Iraq. No longer saying the info is from a tabloid (a lie), but basically using the "trustworthiness" of McCain and the president's own press mouthpiece to say it isn't so. "Who do you trust, people? It's obvious who WE want you to trust."
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=3842353&mesg_id=3843764

Then a lot of silence filled with runaway bride, Michael Jackson, and other distractions which are obviously of far greater national importance than the DSM or any other realities embarrassing to the Bush administration. "Forget, all you idiots who may be wondering about the DSM. Here, have another pervert-of-the-day show."

Finally bringing us to the opening post video.
