CBS news leads with repub criticism of bush

It was a good lead story and touched on Gitmo, the Iraq War and a second UK memo. More repubs are distancing themselves from bush and are wanting a timetable for troop withdrawel.

They're worried about their jobs in 2006 from the sounds of it. :evilgrin:

They know the poll numbers I'm sure and keep up with it. The republicans haven't had any good outcome in any poll numbers since the last "election". As you said they have to worry about re-election so of course they're going to follow the poll numbers (like Bush critized Kerry of doing heh). This whole summer and next few months should be interesting to see how many more republicans get more crazy and how many more distance themselves.

20. Losing key republicans!

Wow. This is great! I wish these people would get in touch with Conyers and actually do something! Mel Martinez of Florida. Remember him? With the Schavio memo? Why is he coming out against Bush? (I love how they say Booosh) He was talking mostly about closing Guntanamo and how it gives the US a "bad image." (heh!) Republican senator Lindsay Graham!! He says they're not giving enough support for the troops in Iraq. He also said unless things get turned around public support is going to keep slipping away. Walter Jones, the man who did "freedom fries" ordeal (heh) is calling for a time table for US troops to withdraw from Iraq. He also said the reason's for invading Iraq proved to be untrue.
The reporter also said that according to a new report that was put out there were no plans mentioned of rebuilding Iraq from the US (duh!).

being built in Iraq...The media is keeping these plans secret on the M$M networks. I've only learned of the 'enduring bases' from reading the internet sites on DU and truthout.org etc.

Bob Herbert's "Heads in the sand" shows Sen McCain saying we'll be in Iraq for ten to 20 years...'that's not so bad'. Gotta love 'em !
