4. I Like Reid, But He's Really Pretty Tame....
and I'm sorry to say, lacks real aggressiveness.

I think he's just soft spoken because he has been fighting for us, but he needs to be more vociferous! I would be raising my voice much more.

Not complaining, but I love to see COMPASSION!

10. Frist doesn't have the votes
to win another cloture vote so he's delaying action on the nomination.

So far the Dems are holding strong on their demand that the White House give them the information they requested. They are doing a good job of painting the WH as obstructing their work. The Dems have offered several compromises, narrowing their requests, but the WH continues to refuse.

The longer this goes on, the better our chances of defeating the nomination are. There was some talk about a _possible_ vote this week, but when Frist announced the schedule for the Senate for this week, he didn't mention Bolton. He said that the Senate would begin work on the energy bill this week and expected it to go into next week some time.

Right now Bolton has been moved out of his office because his replacement at State has been confirmed and taken over the job. Bolton has been moved to some temporary office in a non-desirable area of the State building and is, I understand, pretty grumpy about the whole thing.

12. At least this has thrown a monkey wrench
into their diabolical war plans, it's going to make their moves more transparent, even if this evil fuck makes it to the UN, he's been denuded.

14. I like these comments on Bolton from Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski
http://www.militaryweek.com/kk042205.shtml

It is refreshing to hear Senator Hagel express his concern over this particular Bush appointee. Bolton's narrow-mindedness and vindictiveness does not inspire confidence.

However, it is increasingly typical of those the current American president elevates to ever higher levels of "public service."

Bolton, from all reports, is not only an ideologue, but an intolerant coward. Bullies usually are.

<...>

This Bolton from the Bush may be a long needed wakeup call. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney habitually reward cowardice and incompetence. They continually place political loyalty above ethics and loyalty to country.
