Bill Maher was on the other night (another old show), during which he said that the last time there were as many black people onstage for a crowd like that (the convention) they were being sold as slaves!

the audience was REALLY taken aback by the comment, and didn't really laugh for awhile. you could hear the oohs, NO/s, outraged reaction before some laughs set in. Priceless moment
