If Saddam had Bush's example to follow 13 years ago,
this could have all been avoided.

After Iraq invaded Kuwait, Saddam should have gone to the UN and told the General Assembly the war had been just: a despotic ruler had been overthrown, Kuwait's provocative slant-oil drilling into Iraqi fields had been stopped, and the colonial powers legacy of carving-up Arab lands had been undone. And though Iraq wouldn't cede control to the UN, and was indeed selling off Kuwait's assets, Saddam still believed it to be the obligation of the international community to help Iraq fund and police the nation it had just occupied.

And if this sounds ridiculous, but Bush's speech at the UN seems to make sense, whose fault is that?

1. He could have accused Kuwaiti nationals of terrorism too.
I'm sure that there had been at least one or two incidents.
