Listening to Franken right now...
I forget, WHY again is it so wrong to compare Bush to Hitler (he's basically saying you just don't go there)?

Granted the GOP machine seems more akin to Soviets than Nazis, but other than that?

2. Probably because it is so damned frightening

To contemplate the possibility that an authentically evil man is at the helm of the American government

American Nazification
Phase 1

Seizure of Power

2000: November

Bush is appointed President by the Supreme Court

Bush is foisted on the American public through a coup d'etat of the Supreme Court after massive election fraud perpetrated by his brother in Florida.

Thousands of voters were illegally disqualified in the 2000 election in the state of Florida, when Jeb Bush and his Secretary of State compiled a false list of felons who would not be allowed to vote.

The Supreme Court was packed with reactionary right-wingers, several of whom had conflicts of interest because of their ties to the Bush family.

4. Bush hasn't killed 12 million plus people in a holocaust
There's the fact that Hitler started a world war in which 50 million plus people died.

The WWII and the Holocaust are the defining characteristics that made Hitler and the Nazis so evil, the fascism was minor in comparison.

10. Give the McChimp more time
He is well on his way. 1700 of our kids have died in two years. Who knows how many Iraqis? Then there's Iran and Afghanistan and Pakistan and North Korea plus several Central American countries he hasn't even touched yet.

11. I see your point but

if you consider that we all should have LEARNED from the horrors of Hitler, the NeoCons either have not gotten the message or they are trying their best to ACT in a Hitler like manner.

We have come too far as a country to be barbaric.

6. Long story short --
It causes offense to Jewish people, who take the comparison as a trivialization of the Holocaust.

13. Not to this one.
I don't take offense at all because Bush is being compared is being compared to Hitler's early period before concentration and death camps.
