I believe Merck has a new vaccine for that now. They say it really helps prevent and/or lessen the severity of an attack. I might get the vax, and I don't take that step lightly. But I'm really worried about the virus getting reactivated in my nervous system later.

I work for an org that does scientific research...Lot's of very smart, progressive people (of course, that does not automatically mean they are immune to this nonsense)...
