A plea to Paul Krugman and Frank Rich
GET OUT NOW. Do not pass GO. Do not collect $200. Get the hell out of the NY Times NOW. Thousands of us have stopped even visiting the NY Times website due to the incredibly bad and possibly treasonous reporting over the years. Paul and Frank, you guys are two of the good ones. We read you when your articles get posted on message boards. Other than that you're out of luck.

Say goodbye to your CIA newsroom. Say goodbye to E Bumiller. Say goodbye to Judy Miller, oh, and kick her in the teeth on the way out. Say good bye to the tattered and dusty remains of a once great newspaper. Gentlemen, we get our news elsewhere, and the two of you are too talented and honest to be working at that piece of shit rag. umkay?

2. On the other hand, I wonder how many people have been forced to
think by reading their columns and those of Bob Herbert.

6. Announced a month ago
The New York Times said Monday that it plans to charge for some of its editorial columns and its archive of stories online to boost subscription sales, even as it invests in its free service.

The New York-based publisher of the namesake newspaper and The Boston Globe said the new product, TimesSelect, will debut in September and cost $49.95 for an annual subscription.

The company said most of its stories will still be available online for free.

TimesSelect underscores the paper's push to create more Web products, both free and for a fee, to offset an uncertain advertising market for its print newspapers.
