Is it possible that Michael Jackson is mentally ill and has been for some
Edited on Tue Jun-14-05 02:36 PM by KlatooBNikto
time? If that is indeed the case, he may well have been telling the truth and we may need to treat him as someone who needs our sympathy rather than contempt. I hope a good psychiatrist can diagnose and help him.

1. carefull you...
there are some here that believe that ANYTHING other than total 100% belief that he is guilty and should be placed in jail immediately (regardless of the verdict) is tantamount to:
a) being a pedophile yourself
b) being completely lacking in compassion for children
c) both of the above

3. I do not disregard the possibility that he may well have molested the
children.I was just trying to see if that molestation was the result of mental illness.

6. oh, i don't disregard the possibility either...
i'm just surprised to see that some insist that he should still be jailed despite the verdict and that any semblence of respect for the jury's verdict is the same thing as paying dues to NAMBLA.

2. Oh, he's a sick man, all right
and he's had enough money to pay plastic surgeons to turn him into a total freak so he now looks as sick as he is. I'm not going to psychoanalyze him, but I hope somebody qulaified does eventually.

I can't help but feel a bit sorry for anyone with enough money to act out his pathology.

4. Ya think?

Michael Jackson is obviously, irrefutably, incontrovertibly insane. Several cages short of a puppy farm. Flying blind and solo into the Jungle of Bonkers. He is totally nuts, and we can prove it. The evidence is undeniable.

8. Many child prodigies cannot hack it as adults
He WAS a child genius of musical interpretation and performance. The adult successes of "Off The Wall" and "Thriller" were no flukes. But something snapped by the time he was 30. The Peter Pan Syndrome in the extreme.

10. Rolling Stone a few weeks back
"You can dismiss Sneddon as a monomaniacal, headline-hungry bureaucrat and his witnesses as scheming, lying-ass gold diggers, but there's no avoiding the fact that Michael Jackson is, undeniably, one seriously weird motherfucker."

11. I've met him on a number of occasions
Edited on Tue Jun-14-05 03:03 PM by Lorien
he use to be a regular visitor at my workplace. I know several people who have worked with him on various projects as well. I always felt sorry for the guy; he doesn't function at all well in social situations, and he does indeed seem to lack mental health (and even with seven shrinks in my family, I would be hard pressed to even give a good guess at a diagnosis). He brought young boys to our workplace and his interactions with them did seem a bit odd...but I really didn't see enough to make any call on the abuse issue (hell, his interactions with ALL of us were odd. I felt really uncomfortable being around him, honestly-and part of that was due to his own obvious discomfort). Yeah, the guy needs help, but most of all he needs to get out of the headlines. There are far more pressing issues for the media to focus on.

23. So my firsthand impressions aren't to be trusted?
I don't have the time to spend typing out various Jackson stories from those times, but suffice to say that his ACTIONS were those of a person who puts himself first and acts thoughtlessly towards others primarily because thinking of others feelings simply doesn't occur to him to begin with.

any news about Michael Jackson and his crones?

15. duh
Yes, Jackson is damaged. That should be obvious. A probable outcome given his childhood. (Heard a story of him sharing a hotel room with an older brother during their touring days, and his brother would regularly have girls in the room.)

Any parents giving him access to their children should be charged with *something*, at this point.

19. Perhaps his lost childhood
being a pop star might explain why he now tries to relive his childhood, and has bizarre relationships with young boys. Just think about it for a minute, he really did never have a normal childhood, he was always performing, touring, etc. Also, wasn't his father suppose to be a bit abusive? I'm not necessarily saying this is true, but could it not be a possibility?

21. Mental illness is hard to define...
I was speaking with a psychologist friend the other day, and he was of the opinion that MJ was probably molested when he was a child. I agree with him; that would explain a lot of his peculiarities. Also would cast his statements that he, "never got to have a childhood" in a new light as well.
