but why do lefties always belong to organizations named something like 'Code Pink?' It automatically gets a snicker and damages credibility. And then this lady, who certainly seemed to do a good job on the transcripts, has a first name of 'Medea.' A real winner, there. It may sound like I'm making light of this, but I'm really not. Perle is swine, and people need to know that, but PR counts, and naming an organization 'Code Pink' isn't likely to win a lot of 'NASCAR dads' over to the cause.

On the bright side, at least not too many NASCAR dads will have a clue what the name Medea is about.

The force of her personality and her mind shone through. The simple fact is, I know lots of people who aren't even Republican who would take one look at Medea, see the name of her organization, and assume she was a crank. These are reasonably bright, well-intentioned people, but the conditioning is there. Not taking that fact into account is a marketinbg blunder, and it has practical costs; practical costs in this case means more dead Iraqis.

Easier and better to see things for what they are and adapt, than to be stubborn about it. In real life, the mountain does not come to Mohammed. :/

If anything it detracted from her delivery which was excellent.

I wish I had watched her. My wife and I were watching the Newshour and when that story came on my wife said "What is hell is Code Pink?" * I told her it was an anti-war organization. I figured (Wrongly it appears!) that she was some patsy picked to make Perle look good ("but, but richard, if we just gave Saddam and hug and a puppy he would have been ok!"), so we turned back to BBC News. DAMN. I would have love to seen Perle get slapped around. She sounds impresive and I will listen next time. My apologies to Code Pink for pulling a freeper..
