But then one of the reasons for the Revolutionary war was that the Brits were going to free the slaves and john Hancock didn't want competition. America really hasn't changed all that much. We get the government we deserve all along the roadmap from 1776 to the Bush misadministration. 9-11 has happened many times before like the movie groundhog day. Remember the Maine? The Tonkin Gulf indident?

Read Gore Vidal and all this is very predictable. Right down to Melanie Holloway's panties.

2. don't forget Pearl Harbor
There's ample evidence our government knew the Japanese fleet was coming, but they wanted to use it as an excuse to enter the war.

America really was never created to be a democracy, but a political vehicle to protect the interests of wealthy white male property owners, some of that property being human beings.

5. American guerrilla fighters used many of the same tactics Iraqis use today
Iraqis who work with the US are routinely targeted for murder by the resistance in Iraq.

One thing that is often forgotten about the Revolutionary War is that it was also a conflict between fellow neighbors as well: Revolutionaries against Loyalists.

All wars are personal, but wars waged against your own government and its supporters who happen to be your neighbors can get especially personal.
