Compare the awarding of this PR contract to the awarding of this PR contract..
http://www.mahablog.com/2005.06.12_arch.html#1118668350569an "an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, with a potential maximum value of $100,000,000" PR contract awarded to a company run by a GOP operative. Described thus:
"We have a tiny start-up venture, controlled by persons unknown, that suddenly materializes in late 2003 doing "private equity" deals in the middle of a war zone, and then obtains a huge PR contract from the Pentagon, and then hires a bunch of unemployed GOP campaign operatives to execute that contract, and then is absorbed by a shadowy DC company that specializes in corporate and political detective work and that may have close ties to both the Republican Party and the intelligence community, which then is awarded an even bigger contract to produce even more Pentagon propaganda."
In fact.. why is it that the US taxpayer is paying $300 million to people whose stated intention is to lie about the war?
And this doesn't cause a blip on the radar whereas a note from some PR wanker who claims to have met Kofi Annan (indubtibly the least corrupt player in contemporary international affairs) in the lift is worth leading CNN bulletins? And what does this note tell us... that Kofi was polite to him, surprise surprise he is polite to everybody!!
Kafka and Orwell have nothing on 21st century America...
