Schiavo's parents "not swayed" by autopsy, consider legal action!

LARGO, Fla. - An autopsy that found Terri Schiavo suffered from severe and irreversible brain-damage has done nothing to sway her parents' position that she deserved to live and may have gotten better with therapy.

The long-awaited report Wednesday found Schiavo's brain had shrunk to about half the normal size for a woman her age when she died March 31 after her feeding tube was disconnected. The autopsy also determined she was blind.

Bob and Mary Schindler disputed the results, insisting their daughter interacted with them and tried to speak. Their attorney said the family plans to discuss the autopsy with other medical experts and may take some unspecified legal action.....

In Washington, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said the autopsy did nothing to change President Bush's position that Schiavo's feeding tube should not have been disconnected. He had signed a bill, rushed through by Congress in March, that was a last-ditch effort to restore her feeding tube.

He knew the parents would do this and for that reason he got multiple opinions on his findings. And that why it took so long to get the report.

5. Its interesting that they are unable to accept the findings of the

autopsy, but not surprising in a way. They were her parents after all and they aren't the only parents in the world that have desperately tried to hang on long after they should have let her go.

That said, the autopsy supports Schiavo's decision. Any court action they (the parents) attempt should be summarily dismissed.

I used to feel very sorry for them. (I'm still sorry they lost a daughter, of course) But these actions give the appearance that they are honoring her memory by treating her like a cash cow.

I long ago stopped "feeling sorry" for them and now feel nothing but contempt and disgust. also resentment at the way they constantly try to capture my sympathy with their self-serving BULLSHIT. they couldn't care less about their own daughter--it is all, 100%, TOTALLY about THEM. I feel so sorry for their other children (REMEMBER THEM?)--surely the living are as deserving of this kind of energy as a person who died more than 15 years ago. who the hell are these professional attention-seekers going to sue now? the only one left is god him/herself, for making their daughter mortal like the rest of the human race.

Sorry to be so cynical, but I've lost ALL respect for these people.
They are being paid to keep this thing going and going-it is shameful. And what about the doctors and nurses who out and out LIED
about poor Terri's condition? I'd love to know who was paying them?
I would love for some real journalist to follow the money on this case! Like Randi Rhodes was saying yesterday, it's not really about Terri, but it's such an obvious example of the lies and deceit of the Right Wingers and the lying press.
