FOX News Guilty of Cut and Paste Journalism
Excerpt from Fox News - Bush Interview...

Looks like we have ALL the evidence we need to accuse FOX News of Cut and Paste Journalism, and they did it..

Here is an excerpt from their site:

HUME: Right.

BUSH: It could be 2,000. You just don't know. But you do know it's a pretty rough looking trail, and there is absolutely no question in your mind he's going to make it. What makes this interesting is that it's based upon the Methodist hymn "A Charge To Keep I Have", and that's one of the verses. To serve the present age my calling to fulfill, oh may that all my powers engage to do my master's will. This painting to me says that it's very important for all of us in life to serve something greater than ourselves. As a man of faith, that is the Almighty's will. As a president, my job is not to promote a religion, my job is to call people to serve our country. The painting says two things to me: One, it speaks to my personal faith, but also speaks to the job of the president, which is to capture the spirit of America and call people to service.

(I just saw this part on FOX News, and Bush KEEPS SPEAKING after the "call people to service" comment on camera, but the sound was cut by FOX. Why wasnt what he said included? Evidence of the CUT is in Fox's own transcripts. Notice the speakers name "HUME" is missing for the next question below. Looks like cut and paste journalism as usual. Hmm, i wonder WHAT Bush went on to say...)

Let me start off talking about Iraq. A few weeks back, when these terrorists began to appear on the scene evidently from outside, you said, "Bring 'em on." What did you mean by that?

BUSH: Well, I was really talking to our troops. I was saying to our troops in the theater that some in the region felt like they could come and take you on. Some felt like -- some terrorists, that is -- felt like they could beat us. And my point was we're plenty tough and we will take them on there.

1. Check this CUT out.
I need someone who may have TAPED the Video tonite to confirm this or kill it.

GWB ON VIDEO:

"We didn't know there would be Ba'athists that would be angry at the fact that they weren't in power."

FOX NEWS TRANSCRIPTS

"We know there would be Ba'athists that would be angry at the fact that they weren't in power."

BIG DIFFERENCE, AYE SENOR? Can someone who watched confirm that Bush REALLY said the Top Quote? If so, this administration REALLY DIDNT size up the enemy at all. help here.

3. Except for the 'Cut' part
It's 'lie and paste' journalism.

4. Hey man, i SWEAR that he said "didn't"..
Can u believe that? If he really said:

"We DIDN'T know there would be Ba'athists that would be angry at the fact that they weren't in power."

And if he said:

"We know there would be Ba'athists that would be angry at the fact that they weren't in power."

.. then GWB has bad grammar... "We know there"????

If it turns out he said DIDN'T, THIS should be Proof-positive that our country is run by corporate media thugs. unfreakbelievable. I might even stay up to record it if they show it again. please, if someone gets this video, i want a copy. thx.

5. Corporate media thugs, absolutely
The country run by them? Don't think so, but certainly assisted by them.

If you get a video that conflicts the transcript, send them to thememoryhole.org, Russ Kick loves that kind of stuff

6. Oh, good g*d!!!
I could only get through half of that infomercial transcript. Hume makes Larry King sound like Walter Cronkite! Here are my favorite portions, which I'll call my WTF?!? moments:

HUME: How do you get your news?

BUSH: I get briefed by Andy Card and Condi in the morning. They come in and tell me. In all due respect, you've got a beautiful face and everything.

WTF?!?

BUSH: {Marvin Bush and my sister Dorothy} come up for the weekends, to Camp David with us. And it's a good chance to be with them. I love to be with my family, but we are not pick up the phone chit-chat people that much.

BUSH: I've hurt my knee, and...

WTF?!?

BUSH: {T}he best way to get the news is from objective sources. And the most objective sources I have are people on my staff who tell me what's happening in the world.

WTF?!?
