What the fuck??? Where is anything about Conyers or the DSM? Didn't see a mention anywhere. virus-laden poo over politics. That pretty much sums up the level to which the media has sunk. I'm fed up!

...it was on NPR though not covered extensively. NPR has been taken over by neocons too so their lousy coverage of news will only get worse. Makes me glad I haven't sent them any $ in a couple years. :D

On NPR's Morning Edition, Nina Tottenberg announced that if the Supreme
Court supports Congress, it will, in effect, be the end of the National
Public Radio (NPR), National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), and the Public
Broadcasting System (PBS). PBS, NPR and the arts are facing major cutbacks
in funding. In spite of the efforts of each station to reduce spending
costs and streamline their services, some government officials believe
that the funding currently going to these programs is too large a portion
of funding for something which is seen as not worthwhile. This is for
anyone who thinks NPR/PBS is a worthwhile expenditure of $1.12/year of
their taxes. The only way that our representatives can be aware of the
base of support for PBS and funding for these types of programs is by
making our voices heard. Please add your name to this list and forward it
to friends who believe in what this stands for. This list will be
forwarded to the President and the Vice President of the United States.

This petition is being passed around the Internet. Please add your name to
it so that funding can be maintained for NPR, PBS, and the NEA.

4. It's Headlines When It Bleeds...

Nothing sexy about DSM, yet. And it won't be. Watergate wasn't sexy either. It took time and this isn't a story people can easily visualize...too complex to put in a four or five word headline. And best it's not.

You'll see headlines when you see head's fall, a full-fledged investigation launched with big name witnesses or a dead body or three. Otherwise, this is a story of interest to a small segment of the overall audience...but it's a lot larger than it was a week or two ago, Patience is a virtue.

The good news here is how many people and groups have energized to push this story forward. That's setting up a pipeline to keep not only this story but others in the corporate media faces. I sense we'll need to push a lot more, but there's a forward momentum.

I've been e-screaming at them for weeks about covering this twaddle. But I'm never sure whether comments re cheesy coverage are logged somewhere, or if they count it a plus that somebody out there is actually looking at the stuff.
