Is it OK to have hope and get excited????
I stepped away from my computer for a few days, and when I returned this morning I found lots to read on DU to get my blood flowing again.

What are the true odds that DSM/Conyers Committee/et. al. will still have legs one month from now???

Does Congress take July and August off or just August?

2. Is it OK to have hope and ge excited? Yes. About Conyers? Not really.
The best we can hope for is that the DSM and its implications will sink into the national consciousness. As for indictments and trials, don't hold your breath.

But, that alone is a hopeful scenario. If the blood on Bush's hands can be transfered to the GOP in general, we can have a heckuva pick-up in the 2006 elections.

3. Right
In our dreams, a boot back to Crawford tomorrow isn't soon enough. Realistically, at the very least, it sets up a very positive platform for Dems to run on to unseat those who want this 'war'.

4. Conyers (bless him) hearings are just a side show, really
No,t hat's NOT to take anything away from him. Its just that his hearings are first and foremost, unoffical, thanks to Fat Jimmy Sensenbrenner. They will accomplish nothing official.

What they *will* do is keep the story alive. Just a part of the general pressure building below this story, pushing it ever upward.
