Who feels like buying some freakin' guns?
Watching the DSM hearing on C-Span with the Dems in this little basement room with the mothers of dead soldiers, I am really getting pissed off. I'm incredibly proud of the congressmen and -women testifying there, but I am equally outraged that they have been relegated to the basement, given barely any media coverage, and ignored by the white house. On C-Span 2, Sensenbrenner is shutting down discussion of the Patriot Act and walking off with the gavel.

This is ridiculous. What the hell are we supposed to do?

1. I know a lot of progressives who already have guns. As my dad says
they drafted the liberals for Viet Nam and taught them how to kill.

And where are those Vets now? Sitting on the sidelines getting madder, and madder, and madder over the situation.

7. Other than the Spanish Revolution (ie. Civil War) the Left has won every..
...modern conflict. Once push comes to shove we almost always kick ass. Nicaragua, Cuba, Russia, *Korea, Vietnam, etcetera.

Not saying that *North Korean has turned out well, oh it hasn't, at all but the numbers are on our side.

4. I/m going to KY in two weeks with a gun nut friend to an army
base and shoot a bunch of MACHINE guns....all legal, too, agent Mike

we're going to shoot at binary explosives, similar, in certain ways, to those that blew up the Fed Bldg in OK city

it's all totally legal, as are their guns, including mostly WWII machine guns (Browning 30cal water, German M-42/34), as well as assault weapons, submachine guns

does this make me a bad person?

5. Not bad.
Just mildly deranged, in a fun sort of way. Don't hurt yourself.

9. my thoughts, exactly....I fired a gun for the first time two years ago
it was fun! we were careful, but you;ve got a serious point about the machine guns. this is on a firing range, though, so I'm thinking it's pretty carefully organized

the people I was visiting had a home made cannon, too!

very small; a hollowed out piece of steel about eight inches long. We shot a tennis ball out of it

12. An SKS is the pre-AK-47.
They are pretty damned cool, literally antique, and full of decent punch:-)

Also you can find them in some oil like casing for under $180.

8. Yeah some days it gets so I can't even see straight
I'm so pissed off. So according to Sensenbrenner the Dems are not allowed to have a voice in this nation, then to prove it they shove Conyers in a basement somewhere. Fuckers. This is not going to go away. We are not going to go away. Eventually the moderate American people on the right are going to get angry as well. Then it's game on!

13. I always feel like buying firearms, the problem is usually cash flow
I enjoy using my Federal Firearms License to buy them through interstate commerce via the Internet, and having them shipped directly to my home. No sales tax, no California 10-day wait, no dealer markup, no silly trigger lock hassle.

14. I keep telling my husband I HAVE to buy a gun!
He keeps saying it's too dangerous to have in the house. I HATE GUNS TOO! I was raised with a dad and 3 brothers who LIVED to hunt so it's not like I'm not familiar with them. I am. I just never wanted a gun in my house where my son could possibly find it. I had a friend whose 14 year old son was accidentally killed by a friend after they had gone hunting. Guns scare the hell out of me, but I want one NOW! I want to be ready for the revolt...the militia...the martial law...WHATEVER! I now want a gun. Sad, sad, sad.

18. that is exactly how I feel...
My brothers and father were hunters so I've never been vehemently against hunting guns/hand guns, but I've never ever thought about getting one. The idea used to repulse me. I didn't want something that could do so much harm in my house. After watching our gov't shut down any efforts by the minority party to even debate the crimes of the bush admin, I feel like things are just going to go from bad to worse and I don't want to lie down and take it when/if it gets here.
