I've never been a LIHOP person
And it would take a lot for me to go even further than that -- i.e. MIHOP. But after watching clip #1 from this site, I'm starting to rethink it all.

The August, 2001 security memo
You remember the one. The one that Kindasleasy Rice said--under oath--was an historic document and not a real warning. There were many warnings that Bin Laden was going to attack leading up to that memo, all totally ignored by CuckooBananas.

Now, LIHOP says that CuckooBananas knew about 9/11 and deliberately let it happen. Well, given the trail of warnings, maybe there is something to this thing.

At best, CuckooBananas is incompetent, allowing clear warnings to be ignored in violation of his oath of office to protect. At worst, he is a traitor. I feel strongly that somewhere between these extremes lies the truth.

The only problem is that we may never know.

2. Well, I've been LIHOP from the beginning
because we knew Asscrock had stopped flying commercial jets and there had been rumors of hijacks and another attack. If we got vague rumors, you can bet they got specifics. I think they just sat on their hands like poor stupid Idiot did at the Booker School and just let it happen.

I think the original justification for Iraq was to be the anthrax mailings, but 9/11 just fell into their laps. Both were blamed on Iraq early on, and Iraq was eliminated not too much later.

Cheney still swears Iraq did 9/11. Everyone else fessed up, but he just won't let it go.

I'm not MIHOP on anything but the anthrax mailings, which were hamfisted and an obvious inside job. I don't think this bunch is smart enough to pull something like 9/11 off. They were smart enough to let it happen, though, and Idiot's approval numbers doubled overnight.

4. I agree with you on this.
MIHOP is a crock of shit. There's no evidence whatsoever that MIHOP happened, and the convoluted theories trotted out by the MIHOP nuts are ridiculous. They are unbelievable and undermine the finding of what actually happened surrounding the Bin Laden attack.

But those anthrax mailings almost had to be somebody with access. Consider the fact that DOJ completely dropped the investigation. It's a terrifying thought, but there's something about this specific case that is most troubling.

12. so are you a coincidence theorist or lihoper?
I'm firmly in the LIHOP camp, but your remarks about MIHOP being a "crock of shit" and claiming that "the convoluted theories trotted out by the MIHOP nuts are ridiculous" is pretty strong language.

11. The most compelling arguments against MIHOP....
...go something like this.

"No American president could possibly be evil enough to give orders that would result in the deaths of thousands of innocent people."

See Iraq.

"No American president would be dumb enough commit a crime that huge that could result in impeachment or worse."

See Iraq.

"There are many people in the military, the intelligence community, and law enforcement that would blow the whistle before such a conspiracy ever got off the ground."

See Iraq.

"The press would expose such a crime immediately."

See Iraq.

"Even the president's most ardent supporters would turn away from him if he were even suspected of such a crime."

See Iraq.

You get the idea.

3. I'd like to know what was in the 28 missing pages of the Senate 9/11 rept
...

Yet even in its sanitized version, the bipartisan report, long delayed by an embarrassed White House, makes clear that the United States should have focused on Saudi Arabia, and not Iraq, in the aftermath of September 11.

As we know, but our government tends to ignore, fifteen of the nineteen hijackers came from Saudi Arabia; none came from Iraq. Leaks from the censored portions of the report indicate that at least some of those Saudi terrorists were in close contact with--and financed by--members of the Saudi elite, extending into the ranks of the royal family.

The report finds no such connections between Iraq and Al Qaeda terrorists. It is now quite clear that the President--unwilling to deal with the ties between Saudi Arabia and Osama bin Laden--pursued Hussein as a politically convenient scapegoat. By drawing attention away from the Muslim fanatic networks centered in Saudi Arabia, Bush diverted the war against terror. That seems to be the implication of the 28 pages, which the White House demanded be kept from the American people when the full report was released.

5. Go here and learn all about MIHOP...
Esp. the video section...

http://www.thedossier.ukonline.co.uk/

snip

"Detailed warnings were given to the US in advance of the attacks by at least 11 countries. Mossad even provided names of four of the hijackers - Straight after the attacks, United Airlines’ stock prices plummeted. At the time it was reported that suspicious 'put options' had been purchased. Basically, if you buy put option shares you are taking a gamble that those shares are going to drop in price, because you can then sell them at the original high price but purchase them at the new low price. The amount of these put options bought was way above the norm. Investigations into who was responsible for these deals lead to Deutsche Bank/Alex Brown Inc. The bank’s chairman up until a few years ago was former CIA executive director, Buzzy Krongard - An Israeli shipping company with offices based at the World Trade Centre, broke its lease two weeks before the attacks "

6. The circumstantial evidence is overwhelming, IMO,
and anyone who takes a good look at it, who remains objective about it, would have a very difficult time NOT coming to at least a LIHOP conclusion. Yet, there are people who do refuse to see it, and some of them are right here at DU.

8. Ask yourself: "How'd they get here so soon?"
Edited on Thu Jun-16-05 10:56 PM by JohnyCanuck
Venice Florida's Huffman Aviation was the principal flight school used by Mohammed Atta and associates, though used for what is a good question, as Atta was already a pilot. (The best answer may be a familiar one to students of deep politics: trafficking narcotics.) A former Huffman manager told investigative journalist Daniel Hopsicker that a carload of FBI agents pulled up outside his house in the middle of the day, on the day of the attack.

"They were outside my house four hours after the attack," he says in Welcome to Terrorland. Hopsicker writes that "they didn't strong-arm him to make him think harder and cough up some useful leads, but to ensure he kept his mouth shut."

The shaken source had quit Huffman because he'd found the workplace to be something else than he'd expected. Something, well, spooky: "I had to leave and get out. I wish I didn't know as much as I know. I told them they had nothing to fear from me."

What did he know?

"These guys (Atta et al) were double agents.... I gleaned early on that the operation I was working for had government protection. They were let into this country. How did the FBI get here so soon? Ask yourself: How'd they get here so soon?"

9. After all the lies they have told and the deaths they caused without a
trace of conscience, why on earth would you have trouble believing MIHOP?? These people are soulless murderers. They would do ANYTHING for their agenda. Do you not understand that they are a giant crime family?

14. should be good, and i'm looking forward to it..
I've read many books on 911, the best probably being Nafeez Ahmed's . I have yet to read any of Peter Lance's writings, but I find his theory that TWA 800 was an al-Qaeda job ridiculous considering all evidence points to an accidental Navy shootdown.
