Letterman just asked Clinton about DSM
Bill didn't really know much about it but said that it's clear that Bushies wanted to do this from the git-go!

1. Clinton: "What was that?"
Sorry, I call bullshit. He HAS to know exactly what the DSM is. I am so disillusioned with this man, there are no words.

3. You're correct, Clinton sElected his words carefully....
Because he helped cover up all the lies for PNAC. I "noe" longer do have any respect for Clinton, minus the fact hes not a completely evil criminal like the ones he worked for.

23. Clinton covered his ass
He knows he could be in hot water, but there are more pressing matters...

Namely, Bushit and his cronies.

He doesn't want to upset his new BushDaddy figure...
You're right to call bull shit. I think the honeymoon with his waffling is over. We need new leaders, new fighters, and enough already of both Clinton (through supporting bLiar) and Carter (through giving election thief James Baker) credibility).

NEW LEADERS FOR A NEW DEMOCRATIC PARTY

17. But he didn't dismiss it. He said Bush wanted HUssein before he ever
became President and that some of the people currently in the Administration did as well. He also mentioned Cheney's trips the CIA
and said he wasn't going there for coffee and a chat.

24. You're not the only one.
I'm disillusioned with him and Kerry too. Just a few minutes ago I was remembering Kerry saying that if he his vote on the Iraq war resolution to do over again, he'd still vote the same way. I just cannot understand or accept that.

5. Where is the outrage?
Where are the DUDQs and their accusatory mouthing-offs?

I just had to go shower after a thread that pissed on another Democrat who possibly could take a red statee for the Senate and, yet, Clinton has been acting worse than this other Dem ever has.

Look - I like the Big Dog. I'm just pointing out hypocricy on the board.

Bill and Hillary, Kerry and Edwards, they are all playing a role. It goes back many years.

Carter was the beginning. After they finished off everyone else.

14. I am so disillusioned
I"m having trouble typing. I didn't watch because I know how Clinton's been acting lately. But my hubby did, and he told me what Bill said. He said that he asked what's that? I couldn't believe my ears, and I'm really sick of rationalizations for this man's obtuseness. It's either "put on" or real; I don't give a * which. Either way, it is disgusting , and to deny it is just putting lipstick on a pig.

15. Forget about Bill. If he's got any interest left in politics, its how
can he get Hillary elected. Other than that, he's got his nest egg so everyone else can go pound sand.

Hey, I know the economy was good during the Clinton years, but a lot of that was luck. And it's easy to be a popular president when the economy is going great. And compared to the guys before and after him, it is a given that he's a much better man and was a better president. But he's a lot like Kerry turned out to be. Looking out for number one first, and maybe he'll throw a few crumbs to the people.

Bill Clinton has had plenty of opportunity to help democrats big time. He's failed us every time.

Let the dream go folks. He just ain't all we cracked him up to be.

19. Clinton's a politician.
I've never been a huge fan of the man, and I've always tried to figure out where that opinion comes from. After a lot of thinking, I've arrived at a simplt conclusion: the man is a politician.

An extremely adept politician, but a politican nonetheless. He'll sell people out when he needs to. He'll do what needs to be done, even at the expense of people, and he'll feel little or no remorse for it. He's extremely intelligent. I agree with some of his stances. But, simply put, the man knows, lives, and loves politics.

and get as for, or be as popular, as Clinton.

Not wise, though. If he were wise, he'd be a liberal. :)

33. hey not an easy question to answer first time out
sure he politicized his response. the fact remains he acknowledged the DSM - he also mentioned cheney (give bill credit here he was specific as to a@@holes actions, cheney really sucks | truly evil) & BUSHIT's intentions (premeditated). good people this is but day one, let this story grow, keep pushing the truth. it's the end (of BUSHIT) which we should focus upon and any contribution towards that end earns my thanks.

35. If Clinton and much of Washington was aware of what Cheney & Bush
Edited on Fri Jun-17-05 12:30 AM by Dover
were up to (recognized they were manipulating intelligence to support an attack on Iraq) then WHY did they sign onto the War?

When asked this before they claimed that they assumed the intelligence they were presented with by Bushco was accurate and that they were, essentially, tricked.
Most of us here at D.U. were incredulous that they could have been taken in when everything pointed to these sorts of manipulations.
So, apparently, the Dems who signed on WEREN'T tricked. They knew.

And of course Kerry has HAD to take up the DSM cause, acting all outraged, because he had claimed he was taken in, like the others, regarding the intelligence.

So ask yourself....why DID they sign on?

37. I actually thought Bill slammed the administration pretty well
He said various members of Bush's team wanted to take out Saddam well before they took office. He also mentioned that Dick Cheney made several trips to the CIA, trips that Clinton mentioned were certainly not to simply have a cup of coffee.

Also remember, he is a former President, and traditionally former presidents don't get too involved in current events. Former Presidents certainly generally don't make political attacks. I really don't understand all the negativity over Clinton's response to the question. It isn't his place to make the most strident political attacks, that is the job of CURRENT elected Democrats.
