I wish they would all quit being such cowards and deal with it. For instance, I know Moseley Braun when she was a Senator wrote a letter advocating for the decriminalization of marijuana. But nothing came of it, no legislation, nothing. On the campaign trail she'll talk about the drug war being a failure, and talk about how treatment is better than incarceration, but when the rubber hits the road she hasn't been willing to say that she's in favor of decriminalizing marijuana.
Kerry bugs me too, because isn't it true that he's admitted to smoking pot and even inhaling? But he won't say he's in favor of decriminalization either, will he?
IMO medical marijuana is just another way to be wishy-washy about it. Well, I don't buy the authoritarianist argument that medical marijuana is bogus, but I do see it as a step towards decriminalization--that's the politics of it.
Kucinich deserves our respect and perhaps our votes for expressing what most of us feel. Thanks for the reminder of what a great candidate he is and why he belongs in the race.
