Short and Cook confirmed the DSM
the two british politicians who lay down their mandates in 2003
confirm the main argument in the DSM:

That the intelligence was fixed to the policy and that the war was fixed in summer 2002.

***

DU'ers should know that! ;-)

***

"I fear the fundamental problem is that instead of using intelligence as evidence on which to base the conclusion of a policy, we used intelligence as the basis on which we could justify a policy on which we had already settled.”

http://www.wsws.org/articles/2003/jul2003/wmd1-j03.shtml

The same as in the DSM.

...

Short told the committee that the decision to go to war had already been taken last summer. ( 2002 ) She said that “three extremely senior people in the Whitehall system” had told her the decision had been made by President Bush and Prime Minister Blair, and the “target date was mid-February <2003> and later extended to March because of a difficulty with the Turks and so on and to give our prime minister a little more time.”

Source: as above

The same as in the DSM.

We should get both for Conyers Hearings...
