I was watching Hillary speak on C-Span right now,
Edited on Sat Jun-18-05 06:34 AM by Tiggeroshii
Speaking at Marymount University graduation and SHE's BORINGGGGGG....

Albeit, I have the attention span of a gnat, but the Republican that spoke before her in this series was much more charismatic. Clinton had a tendancy to speak slowwwwwly and pause every two minutes. Kinda like, "I speak before this class....because.....today.....youuu..arrreallllfalllasssssleeeeeeeeppppp......

:boring:

5. The only reason Bush is president is cause he's charismatic...
Ya know his Texan accent isn't authentic? He acquired it after recently moving there from New England(where his family originated). The first time he ran for Governor, he lost miserably, respectively, because of his northern, New England yuppie speak. When he ran again, he had mastered that same charismatic Texan speak that so many folk were longing for once....Haven't you wondered why is it Jeb and HW don't have such a Texan draw?

In my opinion, Republicans ONLY have charisma.... They lack in the logic department.

7. You're kidding.....
he doesn't even sound like a Texan. As far as republicans having charisma I think you are joking. bush doesn't have one ounce of charisma. I hardly think cheney, sensenbrenner, hastret, frist, delay and I could go on and on could be called charismatic. I always wonder how they got where they are. They lack in every department.

10. Well being crooked businessmen for one...
That certainly helps! And bribes, etc... But wouldn't you admit that without Bush as their puppet, the public would automatically toss Rove, Cheney and all their ugly fatasses as soon as they even step up to a mic. Bush is the most good-looking, charismatic, and convincing of all those blockheads. the only reason America has been misled over the last four and a half years so badly is cause of him. He seems so...

down to earth x(

I will need to admit, most of them are too crooked to be charismatic and focus on big business and illegal money to get where they are, but a lot of em are actually funny and seemingly down to earth and that's how they get where they are and save the other's ugly asses....

If Bush were forced to resign, I believe that Cheney and Rove having to take over would disgust the world.

Mostly cause he's...

:puke:

14. The only reason bush is where he is today..
is because of those blockheads you are talking about. If you think rove, cheney et al are funny and down to earth you have a strange sense of humor. They are evil and have no conscience.

18. You originally said bush is where he is because of charisma.
and I say he has none. Also, I admit bush is their puppet boy BUT bush would not be there without them not they wouldn't be there without him.

21. Do you really think people vote for him because...
of his great economic policies, or wonderful academic programs and foreign policy? They vote for him because he looks like a nice guy and they find him down to earth. Not to mention the incredible distortion of him by the right wing media, but mostly cause he seems like a nice guy.

Really, those bums are doing a great job of keeping him there, but without a somebody(Bush), they are a nobody.

That is all of course, in my humble opinion, but right now I have my own late night distortions to worry about and am off to bed!

Good day to you, and take care :D

22. More people voted for Al Gore in the 2000 election....
bush was appointed by the Supreme Court. He won the second election (and I'm not entirely convinced he did) because he fed on the fear of the American people. He convinced them he was the only one who could protect them and it had nothing to do with the people thinking he was down to earth or a nice guy.

8. Bush is president because he's charismatic??
He's President because he stole 2 elections. He can't put a sentence together, don't be absurd. His brain is damaged. If you want to learn about charisma, watch Bill Clinton speak.

15. He's President because he needed to win at least 40% of the Nation...
Edited on Sat Jun-18-05 07:32 AM by Tiggeroshii
That takes charisma, good looks, lots of powerful people and teh conservative media alll on your side.

ON EDIT

Let me take that back, he really isn't that good looking, but he needs charm, and that's what he has no matter how much you folk want to deny it.

if he had any he wouldn't need to steal two elections.

He's disgusting-looking, brain-damaged, evil and stupid. I could go on, you know.

12. That isn't charisma.
That is playing the "Look I am as dumb as you" card. Charisma is not a repuke virtue and never will be.

9. Damned If She Do, Damned If She Don't
This is a commencement address. You show me a lively, entertaining commencement and I'll show you the graduating class at Hooters. This isn't quite the UN, either.

On the other hand, when Hillary throws some red meat at a Democratic Party fundraiser (perish the thought of blasting Repugnicans in a room full of well-fed Democrats) then it's all over the news and "she's going over the top" again.

At least Mrs. Clinton can string together a sentence without stumbling...and you can be assured those are her words, not some puppetmaster. As far as you boy's "charisma"...Michael Jackson has "charisma" as well. Adolph Hitler had "charisma".

Sorry, this voter chooses substance not flash. Sad that this nation became fat and lazy and judges those who run the country by how well they pop back little brown ones.

13. Very good point
I suppose commencement ceremony's arent especially exciting, and I belive I have seen entertaining speeches by her. And I admit I have an attention span of a gnat so I shouldn't be watching commencement ceremonies either, or I should wait till I'm better focused. Thank you for that.

16. Welcome To DU
When I want to drive my wife or kids from the room, all I do is grab the remote and pop on C-SPAN. It's definitely an acquired taste. LOL.

Honestly, can you really offer this graduating class some positive words? Can you tell them what a marvelous economy they're going off to? Or what a more peaceful world? Better to stick to the safe and abstract. "Today I am a fountain pen". LOL.

Don't mind some of us around here...it takes two cups of coffee for the brain to really engage properly here.

Cheers & welcome

20. Don't think she's a knockout speaker either
I'm okay with Hillary, but the cadence and pitch of her voice tend to sound like she's lecturing. She's not as butt-awful as Bush but she doesn't have the timing or ability to connect with an audience that Bill C. does.
