As a former reporter, smells like News to me.

5. Ignore it. Cover important Terri Schiavo matter.

6. Ignore it. Cover blond white woman abduction.

7. Ignore it. Cover rhetoric argument concerning Howard Dean.

8. Ignore it. Cover rhetoric argument concerning Dick Durbin.

9. When protests reach feverish pitch claim that this is old news.

Well, it is old news. But it is also very important old news that they utterly failed to report.
