Poll question: Which of these is the TRUE "Centrist"?
Which of these is the TRUE "Centrist"? - in terms of having the most truly sensible & moderate views and policies - not in terms of public perceptions.

2. I think there are several, and some not on your list.
I think a good place to start with this list would be the "gang of 14" who stopped the neuclear option in the Senate.

I think a Centrist is someone who votes against their Party when he/she thinks the subject of the vote is bad for the Country. Most are long term office holders who feel comfortable with who they are, and yes, probably with their re-election.

4. I don't know that that makes them "centrists"
it might make them pragmatists, assuming the democrats had actually gotten anything out of that compromise. Since we did not, I'm more inclined to call them traitorous fools...

3. Feingold. The rest are (at best) right or center right.

5. I feel its John Kerry.
I don't understand this man for the life of me. Lots of centrist democrats in the party, and a bunch of democrats in name only, but then here is John Kerry who...

Openly opposed the war and then supported the war. Was once a long-standing vocal opponent to all corruption, and a hero. I even voted for this guy because he was so envigorating.

But my vote probably hadn't counted, and there are so many things wrong with the fact he always puts on an act. Normal centrist democrats at least act like it all the time and vote the same way (Not Dean though....who's as centrist as they come) but Kerry acts very liberal and puts on an act of opposition instead which is very.....fake.

That's what I can't stand. Howard Dean destroys Kerry in the centrist/liberal standpoint and actually stands behind it as fact. He should have creamed Kerry if there wasn't any fraud or problems I believe.
