Tomorrow all twelve children will be going back home and our home
Edited on Sat Jun-18-05 07:45 PM by KlatooBNikto
is enveloped in sadness. My three daughters who served as doctors in Mali,Chad ,Sri Lanka and Indonesia had brought back these twelve children with them because these children could not be fully treated over there. My daughter who is a cardiac surgeon has performed surgeries on four kids and my other daughter who is an ophtalmic surgeon has corrected the vision of three and the rest have been treated by my younger daughter for cleft palates. All the children have fully recovered and our home was a beehive of activity for the past two months.

My wife and I have a soft corner for a three year old, called Tahira from Mali.Tahira, whom I always call Princess looks like a Nubian Princess with her mahogany skin and big brown eyes and shining black hair. After her valve was corrected she has fully recovered her energy and cannot be kept still for a moment. When she leaves it will leave a void greater than the Grand Canyon in our hearts.

My daughter who brought back Tahira from Mali asked me if she can keep Tahira at her home with her four children.I told her nothing would please me more but what about her parents? That is when we realized that despite their comparative poverty, they have something infinitely more precious to give Tahira and that is their unconditional love. All we can do is continue to visit with them and see her growth and help her when she needs it.

My heart is heavy tonight.I cannot bear the thought of seeing her leave.

1. Wow..What an incredible family you have. Overhwhelming hearts
with an urge to serve and help others.
You must be very proud, and that is something that could help fill that emptiness that you are feeling right now.

4. How much you and your family have given to those
less fortunate, and what big hearts! You all have made huge differences in many lives and I'm sure you won't be forgotten, so I hope you take comfort in that.

7. Your post made me teary .... on several levels.
The story on its face is wonderful.

The selfless acts of your daughters is remarkable.

Your pride in them is overwhelming. Palpable just from your words.

They've done good work. And so have your wife and you in raising them and instilling in them the values that they so clearly have.

God bless you all ... and especially, God bless the little children.

9. This is truly what Family Values should be about!
You must be so very proud of your children and the children who they cared for and you all loved, can only have good memories to take with them.

As you grieve the departure of Tahira, feel good about what you've done that brought her into your life.

12. When God sends an angel into one's life, one can't be ungrateful for ..
the fact that it won't be able to stay. Angels have a way of leaving a slightly-bitter, mostly-sweet aftertaste in your heart that lasts for years or longer.

15. Your family has given the world 12 shining futures..
What a beautiful and amazing thing. You also made the right choice, the child should be with her family.. here, we can give health and comfort.. but I dont know that there is anything like being with your family, knowing where you came from and how you fit into this world. You are obviously her extended family, opening up her eyes to possibilities so bright and shining that you have let her know that she is a valueable part of the world family.

What your family has done for her and the kindness you have shown will ripple out of this girl's life. Take comfort in that.
