Tyson showed class in his loss to "Irish" Kevin McBride

First off, I want to say that as an Irish-American I am glad that Kevin McBride won his fight against Mike Tyson...and that Mike showed alot of class after his defeat.

Regardless of the things Mike has done in his life, he was a great champion once, and although he has done many things in the ring he shouldn't, he was a gracious and dignified loser to Kevin McBride. I just finished watch the re-run of the fight on Showtime and what I found most disgracefull were the actions of the dirtbag fans. They start by giving Tyson a standing ovation and then by the end of the fight they are booing him and throwing crap at him. Some boxing fans are just puke inducing cowards. If you like a fighter then stick with him don't boo him if he loses, especially if he loses with calss. Those losers who threw stuff at Tyson did so because they were a safe distance away, if they had been in front of him they would have backed down like the spineless wanna-be tuff guys they really are.

I admit to not knowing much about boxing, but I know Mike Tyson (by reputation only). I heard about the fight the other day, and I am intrested to hear the outcome.

I guess I'm not even sure what to ask. Did it go 10 rounds? Was it a TKO?

Well, you know what I mean. Would you just tell me what happened?

4. Mike is an interesting study.

He is actually a very intelligent person. He is serious about doing work in Africa, and I hope that he finds success in that. I admire his drive to set goals for himself that include working for others.

12. He can train & manage

fighters, and he is one of the smartest boxing historians today. He has had a little experience working as a commentator, and boxing fans respect him for the depth of his knowledge.

I think he is looking to get away from boxing. Although he is Islamic, he is considering his options for possibly working for a Christian agency. He feels he may be able to bridge a gap and to create a sense of trust in Africa.

It's sad some feel the need to make fun of Mike. Maybe they need to try to feel superior to others. But there are very few people who could survive in the worlds where he has been. He's maturing into a good man.

8. I'll grant that he was a great fighter in his prime...

....but in my opinion, "great champion" is excessive praise for this man. "A thug with boxing talent" would be more appropriate. I didn't see the McBride fight, but if Tyson was gracious or showed class afterward, it may be the first time in his life.

When he realized he was losing he tried to break his opponent's arm.

After the fight he announced his retirement because "if I lose to a fighter like this, I have no business boxing." Yeah, real gracious. He's a convicted rapist, a psycho, and lacks even a speck of class.

He delivered about 7 or 8 low-blows (none of which the ref noticed, hmmm...) and he tried to break McBrides arm at the end of it.

Of course they booed, it was a terrible fight (although i suppose it was their fault because they actually payed to see a tyson fight).

14. While never a fan of Mike....

as an old-school fan I think his is one of the most intriguing stories of the Art. After loosing his original trainer ( I cannot remember his name but he basically pulled Tyson off the streets) he hooked up with the wrong people and it was downhill from there.
This postfight performance has to go down as one of the the all-timers.
Has anyone else who went so hard from top to bottom ever put it so succintly for someone who has been so crazy?

That said, he was his usual dick-self during the fight itself and deserved the humiliation that ensued.
