"Independent World Television" plans to start a tv news channel with no commercials and no govt funding for 2007.

They will need small donations from ordinary people.

Janeane Garofalo and Amy Goodman are two of the advisors.

I love how it is looking for donations from around the world instead of from one country's population and, also, not taking government funding or corporate funding through ads.

For Canadians, having former Ambassador Stephen Lewis as one of the founding advisors is VERY impressive.

I'm skeptical Americans alone would donate enough funding for this project, but if they ask for money globally, maybe that will work.
