When the Republican Noise Machine Becomes the Republican ‘Retreat Machine’

If you have been paying attention then you have noted that Republican Noise Machine (aka The Disinformation Society) has been somewhat mute on certain subjects of late. Parties to the spin have stepped back out of the limelight; they’ve retreated until the next attack. So says Thomas Oliphant, columnist for the Boston Globe, in today’s column.
Conservative spin befuddles the media

WEAK IN THE face of The Great Conservative Attack Machine, two of America's more beleaguered institutions are now struggling with its equally ugly sibling, The Great Conservative Retreat Machine.
Oliphant neatly points out the spin from the right on three subjects, how the right wing has retreated on each and how the media has switched roles to ‘“report” the opposite.” In one case the media claims it’s old news. In the next case there are no apologies, he points out. In the last case, the players hid while the media further spun reality.
