MBNA execs survive helicopter crash
NEW YORK CITY (June 18): Newspapers and newswire services around the globe are reporting the Friday crash of a helicopter carrying MBNA Chief Executive Officer Bruce Hammonds and five members of the company's top executive team.

Hammonds, Lance Weaver, chief administrative officer; Frank D. Bramble Sr., vice-chairman of MBNA Banking; Thomas Wren, group executive, treasury; Richard K. Struthers, vice chairman of international and consumer lending; and Douglas R. Denton, vice chairman of technology, were aboard the MBNA aircraft. The two pilots were identified as Blair E. Payton and Mark Schaberg; at least one pilot remained hospitalized Friday.

Don't you think exulting in near-tragedy and wishing near death on people (however rich and unlikeable you may find them) is going a bit far?
