Voice of Dissent. Politicians who spoke out against the Iraq War
I'm trying to assemble a list of politicians who spoke out against the Iraq war and also voted against the War in Iraq. The media did report the six Republicans who voted against the resolution of course, but not the Democrats. I hope some of you have some names to add to the list preferably with a reference of a story predating the invasion on March 2003.

I've found the following upto now:

Richard Armey
Robert C. Byrd
Max Cleland
John Conyers, Jr.
Howard Dean
John J. Duncan
Lawrence Eagleburger
Paul Findley
Newt Gingrich
Al Gore
John N. Hostettler
Stephanie Tubbs Jones
Edward M. Kennedy
Dennis Kucinich
John Larson
James A. Leach
Barbara Lee
John McCain
Robert McNamara
Ralph Nader
Ron Paul
Henry A. Waxman

5. It's important to note though that Clark opposed from a military viewpoint
Same reason most heartless US gov't officials always oppose war: "not strategically winnable" or other nonsense.

Not on moral grounds.

6. I know. But still they spoke out against the war

And I think that if a Norman Schwarzkopf from a technical perspective opposes the war, it is very important. It may not mean that he is a great moral guy, but he opposed it and somehow the enormous list of Generals, Captains etc. didn't bother them.

4. I found the "quit Iraq timetable"
Edited on Sun Jun-19-05 04:23 PM by DrDebug
However that's a very interesting one as well. And the Watergate Chronology so you've given me plenty to digest ;) Thanks!

I found the roll call. Jack Rabbit posted it. So I have the info. It's impossible to read, but it's in the bag ;)
