John McCain makes a comparison between Nazi war criminals....
and those being held in GITMO.

So, will John now "apologize" for comparing these prisoners (who have been found guilty of NOTHING so far) to "Nazis"?

1. I thought the 'Nazi' comparisons were taboo?

3. Its ok, tho, because he's comparing the prisoners to Nazis
not comparing those imprisoning and mistreating prisoners to Nazis.

He uses the Nazi label in an "acceptable" way.

Politically smart move, imho, on his part.

Of course he's helping paint a picutre that isn't true, at the service of the regime as he has always been, but when was the last time facts mattered to the right?

Its the clearest sign yet that McCain is running for president.

4. McCain is not comparing the prisoners to Eichmann. . .
he's comparing our present judicial excesses to the reasoned approach taken by those who had but recently escaped the Nazi threat. His is a far more damning indictment than a comparison against the Nazi past, as he is saying our generation is weaker and holds less faith in our judicial system than our parents' generation.

5. How dare he regard Reagan's freedom fighters as anything
like the nazis. Ahhh when the U.S. no longer has a use for a tool... how quickly it discards or even decides to put it directly in the waste bin.... pity.

6. At first, I thought this was a trivial post...
But, Adolf Eichmann was a "Nazi" and for McCain to say that "even Adolf Eichmann got a trial" and there are people at Gitmo that haven't is to suggest that they are being treated worse than Nazis when it comes to their rights to a fair trial. At least Durbin put a qualifier "if" in front of his statement. This statement is worse than Durbin's.
