Our Respect for Sovereign Nations Prevents us from getting Osama?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8282169/

Where is bin Laden hiding?
CIA chief Goss says he has ‘excellent idea’The Associated Press
Updated: 8:33 p.m. ET June 19, 2005NEW YORK - The director of the CIA says he has an “excellent idea” where Osama bin Laden is hiding, but that the United States’ respect for sovereign nations makes it more difficult to capture the al-Qaida chief.

“When you go to the question of dealing with sanctuaries in sovereign states, you’re dealing with a problem of our sense of international obligation, fair play,” Goss said. “We have to find a way to work in a conventional world in unconventional ways.”

Asked whether that meant he knew where bin Laden is, Goss responded: “I have an excellent idea where he is. What’s the next question?”

----so, porter goss says he KNOWS where osama is, but, can't go get him out of respect for the feelings of sovereign states.

?

i don't get it porter, i thought osama was public enemy numero uno, we know where he is but let's talk about something besides the failure to get osama shall we? are porter goss and i on the same planet?

2. "international obligation, fair play"?

Yeah, that's usually what stops the Bush administration from doing what it wants to do.

19. Iraq couldn't fight back...
The only time the US respects a nation's sovereignty is when the sovereign nation has the capability to defend itself (or has allies that can defend them)

If Goss's statements are true (big IF), then Bin Laden is hiding in a country that has the ability to defend itself. I'd say in the Southwest part of the Xizang province of CHina.

5. You need to appreciate the delicacy of the situation
It's gonna take a ton of baksheesh and a whole lot of assurances that Dubya won't go cowboy and rain nukes after Osama's pulled out of Cheney's basement and deposited in whatever country that'll have him. Goss knows where he is, he just doesn't yet know where he'll be when we go for the Spectacular Live-on-Fox Capture.

10. I wonder how they froze his body?
It's possible Osama might have been in Area 51 for the last couple of years, frozen along side some ETs. Whatever it is we expect, I expect some far-fucking-out BS from Bushler&Co.

7. Living in a mad house is fun. So we have a frat boy President.
I just loved the DC Times this morning. I wanted to read about Sen, Stevens trip to Paris but I could not pull it up or find it any place but that paper. And it looks like Stevens thinks it is not our business. The whole place down their is like a madhouse.

11. I have to say I don't find living in this madhouse fun
I find it highly stressful. I'm having nuclear nightmares again. I don't like that one bit. I'm back on sleep meds because it's hard to sleep with nuclear blasts burning the retinas.

Nope, don't like it one bit.

12. Whatever happened to "States that harbor terrorists...?"
I could've sworn that BushCo attacked Afghanistan because Afghanistan was "harboring" Bin Laden.

Hm.

14. we need to use this
the admin spews contradicitions of itself every other word it speaks. This statement renders the entire Afghanistan conflict illegal as well. Oh that's right they weren't a sovereign nation until we "Vanquished the Taliban" for them at their invite of course. Iraq invited us too right?

17. Assuming it is true and Goss knows where Osama is..
didn't he just make a major..uh..security/government information type leak or something? I mean..since when does law enforcement or government officials go public saying they know the location of a wanted person? Apparently he wants to give Osama a heads up so the guy can find another undisclosed location.

It all sounds like BS to me. Sovereign nation and all..

I think this administration is getting scared and are making all kinds of goofs while attempting to distract from DSM & the mess in Iraq.
