do they do this automatically every year like some ritual or holiday or what? it's always republicans and they are always suggesting that all we liberals want to do is collect every flag in america and torture it to death.

SURELY, SURELY, they could find something more substantial to debate?

3. Flag Regs say that writing on a flag is technically desecration so...
If Bush actually signed a flag (or flags) then HE has desecrated it... actually IMO the assaults on civil liberties, lying to Congress, "fixing the facts", regime change, sending soldiers over to die and murder thousands of innocent people for a rigged "war" and even trying to pass this legislation is desecrating all that our flag and country stand for and dishonors all that have died to get and keep the freedom that they're trying to take away.

I personally shudder when a flag is burned in protest but I will defend that person's right to express themselves in that way because freedom of speech is something I value deeply and to nibble away at it may start us on a slippery slope that our country should never go down.

6. I Can See The Mailer Now
About a year from now...from your friendly local Repugnican Congresslizzard...excerpts of a speech "given on the House floor" with all sorts of "god bless America", "support the troops", "never forget 9/11", "mom"...blah blah blah. Also in the picture will be the guy with his trophy wife and dysfunctional family...sitting in front of the fireplace with American flags all around.

Yep, the dog days are here. This is a "feel-good" bill...doesn't say a thing, doesn't mean a thing, won't do a thing, but it sure sounds great at those VFW pancake breakfasts and with the yellow ribbons on the SUV crowd.

Remember, Mo...these people have no substance, thus when you pick on their symbols, yes, you've pooped in their cornflakes.
